Why clings my heart to you so tight,
In every moment's grace, in every gentle light.
Why must I bear this poignant ache,
If you held the answer, what solace would you make?
My heart shatters at the sight of you with him,
Behind a veil of thoughts, my chances growing dim.
I yearn to turn the hands of time's grand chime,
To seize a moment where your love was mine.
May this affliction remain a hidden woe,
A lovesick pain only I, in silence, know.
As my heart rends and splits in rue,
All I can do is silently yearn for you.
In dreams, you speak the words I yearn to find,
In your eyes, sincerity's gentle bind.
So, until the night is through,
I'll slumber, in dreams, with visions of you.
