Inoichi Yamanaka moved quickly down the halls of the Analysis Department, his thoughts racing.
The news about Naruto Uzumaki being a part of the ANBU had completely taken him by surprise.
'Naruto in ANBU? Why would the Hokage and Dragon even consider it?'
He was baffled.
His mind churned with questions.
Is this why they've been stalling on my request to evaluate Naruto's mental state? They never planned to approve it.
Inoichi's frustration grew.
Putting someone as unpredictable as Naruto in the ANBU... What are they thinking? It's a disaster waiting to happen!
He couldn't help but think of his daughter's fondness for Naruto.
A loudmouth prankster, and now he's in the most dangerous unit in Konoha? This doesn't make any sense. If the village doesn't support him properly, he might turn against us.
The thought worried him deeply.
'An unstable Jinchuriki in ANBU... It seems the Hokage and Dragon might have lost their minds,' Inoichi concluded.
He sighed deeply, trying to focus.
It wasn't just Naruto's ANBU status that had him on edge.
The real cause of his current state was the disaster of a mission that had just unfolded. Missions going awry was nothing new, but this... this was different.
The Kyuubi had been released.
But it wasn't just the release that was alarming.
The ANBU team reported something unprecedented – the Kyuubi had displayed intelligence, using jutsu and speaking. The very thought sent a shiver down Inoichi's spine.
Inoichi's mind was a whirlwind of fear and confusion.
'A Kyuubi that can think and act on its own... this changes everything.'
The thought alone was enough to send chills down his spine.
He began to piece together the past events. 'Could it be that the Kyuubi broke free on its own that night? Was it acting out of anger when it attacked Konoha?'
The possibilities were unsettling.
Then he thought about the Uchiha Clan. 'Were the rumors false then? The ones about the Uchiha controlling the Kyuubi... And those eyewitness accounts of the Sharingan in the Kyuubi's eyes, were they all made up?'
Doubt crept into his mind.
'Why would anyone lie about that? What's the truth?' Inoichi felt overwhelmed.
There were too many questions and not enough answers.
Inoichi understood the seriousness of what he had to do.
The Hokage had given him a heavy task: to extract and show the ANBU team's memories to the council.
'Why bring the council into this? What's going through the Hokage's mind?' He couldn't help but wonder.
The whole thing felt like a dangerous game. 'Telling the council could stir up trouble. Why risk it?'
He was worried.
