The Incident: Book 6, Part 11.
W/ Jace & Kennon.
Setting: In the dark, quiet, Eerie forest.
Kennon's POV/1st Person:
I stare down at the creek as I stay turned away from Jace. I don't want to talk to her, let alone even be near her. Since she's apparently the daughter of the Man That just so happens to be our rival. I sigh, Before Mustering Up the courage to talk again. "Enzo, Was it?" I ask. She stares at me confused. "....." "Your dad." I say, clearing things up. Realization Immediately dawns in her face then her expression goes somber before Simply just nodding. I tighten my jaw as I try to push down the brewing frustration bubbling in my chest. 'Calm down, Kennon.. Relax. She didn't ask to be related to him... just- breathe.' I utter, only loud enough for me To hear. Before putting on a 'Calm' expression that masked my sudden annoyance. "I told you, I'm Not Anything Like him, Kennon.' Jace says, Scooting a Bit Closer To where I was. I Sigh, Running a hand down my face before I inhale deeply. "Look. Its okay. just - Forget that I was Never mad, Alright? That none of this ever happened." I say, forcing a smile. She agrees reluctantly before muttering a quiet 'thanks' then turning away. That was It. Just silence. Between the two of us. And It was like that for a while. Until I found an odd silhouette swimming in the creek. Without another thought, I lunge and reach out to whatever was in there. After seconds of struggle, I managed to grab whatever was in there. It was a fish. It flapped and gasped for air until it stopped. Me and Jace exchange elated glances. Had we just gotten ourselves a possible dinner? We laugh, As we grab and hug each other tight, a temporary celebration. Then a thought popped into my head. I pull away enough to look Jace straight in the face. "How are we gonna eat it?" I ask. Jace stares at me with a small smirk. "With a fire, doofus." She says. I raise a brow. "Well, do you know how to make a fire?" I ask curiously. She goes quiet before answering with an uncertain tone. I didn't like that. "Do you?" she says, her cocky demeanor gone. Gone without a trace. "Jace. Jace, No-" I grip her tight, looking at her with an apprehensive look. "Jace. YOUR SUPPOSED TO KNOW THESE KIND OF THINGS!" I yell. She seemed sheepish. Before she scowls. "I saved both of us back there! I've been helping us out the entire time, it's time for you to do something or figure it out!" she yells back. We both go silent. I stand there, stunned. Lost for words. Until Jace says something again. "Are we gonna keep standing around yelling at each other or are we going to figure something out?" Jace says. "You're right. Let's just act rationally and find a way to cook it. Or atleast get it safe to eat. We don't know what was in that water it was swimming in. And I'm sure it's nothing good, because this whole crisis thing probably is dangerous and doing harm to the earth as well." I Say, and we finally come back to an agreement. I know this is gonna be a completely different step in a new direction than before... but hope we make it through this smoothly together. No matter how many things come our way, from something simple as not knowing how to start a fire all the way to jaw-dropping dangerous parentage revelations.

W/ Karis
In the middle of nowhere, cold and dark as the sun had started to set.
No One's POV/3rd Person:
Karis was scared. Hungry. And alone. The three things all mixed and swirled up into a not-so-fun cocktail that settled uncomfortably in her chest. The Encounter with those people, Meeting back up with Enzo, Him shooting Sgt. Rudo... and him dying. It was too much for her. She wished that didn't happen. That he would be okay. She grew further and further away from Sgt. Rudo's body. But her mind didn't. He was a part of their team. And She had left him. She wondered how the rest of the group would react... that if she ever did make it to them alive, or worse. They were dead themselves. Karis has never been alone, at least not for this long. She heard footsteps. They weren't heavy like capybaras.. They were light, but it still scared Karis. She had no idea who they were or what they were. Soon enough, she heard voices following up afterwards. She peeked around the corner, to see two guys in military tactical gear. One had looked in his late 20's, whereas the other looked close to 40. Both of them had their guns gripped tightly, and settled down on the grass. The younger one looked up at the sky, face scrunched up as he studied the weather. "It's Been Brutal, Yeah?" The younger looking soldier says to the older. "It has." The older guy agreed. "But let's hope none of them things come our way when we settlin' down." The older guy added. 'They must be talking about the capybaras..' karis whispered to herself. The younger one had heard that. He looks up from the ground. "Hey, colonel." The younger guy says, nudging the older mans' shoulder to get his attention. He looked up. "Did you hear that? It sounded like whispering." The younger guy says. The Older man listens, before shrugging. "....I'll check." the younger soldier sighs at the older mans' nonchalance as he stands up and walks Karis's direction. He Peeked around the corner and His eyes widened when he saw her. Crap. Karis Thought. "Who Are You?" The younger guy/military soldier says. Karis couldn't say anything, not being able to muster the strength to do so. "Where you with anybody? Why are you alone?" The younger guy asks. Karis swallows before answering. "...I was."
