The Incident: Book 7, Part 11.

W/ Kennon, Jace, Karis, MSG. Smith & Cpl. Williams.

Setting: Outside the Abandoned(and destroyed) Auto repair shop.

No One's POV/3rd person:

"So, Uh..." Jace Started, which grabbed everyone's attention, to hear what she was going to say. "Do you guys have a place you're staying or what?" she had asked the two guys and Karis, originally, she was going to speak up about if they had come across the others recently, or know anything about them. But the answer was plain as day in front of her. If they had seen the rest of the group, they would obviously be here, alongside them. Karis, leaving no room for the Men to answer, she nods. "..Yep, we actually do. It's a little campsite with a tent or two set up, well, Emphasis on 'Little'." Karis Responds, and MSG. Smith gazed down at her, tense, most likely not happy with the fact that she was spilling their location to Jace and Kennon, not that those two were the problem, necessarily. Well- He partially thought that. What if they were a part of some big plan to set them all up? What if they were for bait? There was no way that they could be alone, just the two of them, just like that. And how would they be able to survive this long without any backup? But then again, he could say the same about Karis. MSG. Smith's gaze flicked over to The two Teenagers. "We need food. Hopefully you guys can help?" Karis spoke up once more. Jace nods, they were taking them both in with little to no suspicions, and the only way she felt like she could repay them is at least help them out with whatever they needed. "Of course," she said. "From where, exactly?" Jace asked Karis sighs, and Cpl. Williams spoke up. "From this little lake/river," he points. Jace's face went grim. Her mind drifted back to what had happened to Kennon, and how quick it was too. How could she tell them? "Uh... So-" Jace says, and MSG. Smith's brow creases, looking suspicious, wondering if she was trying to back out of this. "Any time will do," Cpl. Williams spoke up, not necessarily wanting to rush them. He was way too nice for a stranger, let alone a soldier. It made Jace confused, but she appreciated the understanding coming from them, Or Him, at least. "The thing is.." Jace starts, taking a breath. She didn't know how to explain it. "Last time Kennon and I caught something that was from the water, which wasn't too long ago, come to think of it." "Something weird-... had happened, To Kennon, specifically." Jace explained. MSG. Smith Looked like he wasn't buying her 'excuse' In His Eyes, and As If he wanted to say something. She sighs and shakes her head. "Basically what Im trying to say is that Kennon had eaten a Fish from a stream, he had gone unconscious and when he had woken up, he lost his memory." Jace had finally managed to spit the words out, and realization had soon Dawned on Karis's Face. "So Thats why-" she began but Jace cut her off with a firm nod. "He hadn't seemed like Himself, Yes. That's exactly why. I Don't Know How though. And I'm taking the guess that it has something to do with the Capybara situation. They might be all tied together."

"This Isn't No Fairytale, Kid. this entire Situation Might be A Little unhinged, with those rabid Animals And All, But that seems a bit Far-fetched." MSG. Smith says, and Cpl. Williams shot a glare at him like 'Seriously? Not everything has to make sense. Our entire situation doesn't make sense.' But MSG. Smith returned with a colder glare, as if he even dared him to Argue or defend Jace. Cpl. Williams pressed his lips into a firm Line, seeming to not be exactly happy with MSG. Smiths' Skeptical mindset. "She's a Kid," Cpl. Williams calmly but firmly said to MSG. Smith. Jace wanted to scoff at the younger man' s comment, as she was in fact not a kid. She'd pretty much be an legal adult if this was still the real, normal world. But she tried to push down that thought and not speak up about it, though. It would've not exactly worked out for her and it would make her seem more childish. Karis looked at her, and Worriedly spoke up. "Are you all right? Your more so in your... Head. a lot more all of a sudden." Karis Said. Jace flinched at her sudden observation, and swallowed hard. "I-" She starts But Karis froze, realizing. "Wait.." Karis said. "I realized-" "It's broken down, I don't know what happened for it to be like this, but- This is where Corniyah, Enzo and the rest of their group was staying at, the Last time I was with Sergeant Rudo, right before he had gotten Killed." Karis says, walking closer to the beaten down building, piecing two and two together, and she tensed up. "That means.." Karis turned to face them. "They Can't be far. I don't know what we'll do if we run across them. Are we even ready?" Karis says, and Kennon finally spoke up, trying to make sense of what he had heard so far. "..So wouldn't it make sense for us to just try and get a move on? Instead of staying in one place?"He queries, Jace sighs, puts a hand up, not necessarily wanting him to talk right at this moment. He didn't comply. "We can't even fish out something from the river or find anything in general. What makes you think we can fight against people If they do end up crossing this trail again that unfortunately leads to us? What if they come back?" He continued, expression serious. Cpl. Williams Nods. "The boys' right. If we can't find anything here, then we need to keep moving. There's no reason for us to keep lingering around this area, Who knows what Will be here if we keep stalling. Come On. Let's go!"

To Be continued.
