The Incident: Book 7, Part 10.

W/ Corniyah, Elona, Masoma, Liam and Enzo.

Setting: In the plains, where the sun is starting to rise again.

Liams' POV/1st Person:

I had actually got them to listen. A smirk tugged at my lips, knowing that those bastards would be getting what was coming to them. And they deserved every second of it. I saw Enzo look at me, expression stern. "Who else have you seen?" he asks. A little thrown off, I couldn't help but raise a brow. "What do you mean?" I asked, and Enzo seemed slightly frustrated. "Have You seen a Soldier and a teenage girl anywhere?" Enzo clarifies, I sigh, wracking my brain to remember. But my attempt fell short, so I only shaked my head. "No, Sir. I have not." I say before pausing. "Why? Are they a target too?" I asked. Enzo had an expression that looked like he was thinking about it, hard. "Most likely." He says. Elona looked from me to Enzo. "Didnt you shoot the guy? What if he bled out?" Elona says. Enzo glares, gritting his teeth, but there seemed to be malicious intent behind it. "Hope not." He pauses, and I had wanted to say something in that moment, but I had no idea if this was the time or place to do so, or to interrupt him. So I kept my mouth shut. "Because he didn't suffer enough. He deserved way worse." "An unsatisfying 'death'." Enzo had said, before his gaze skimmed over the other's faces and their expressions. "He's still a target. We don't know for sure if he's dead or not. So He's not exactly off our list yet. But he will be soon." Enzo says, I nod, I had agreed with him on that. That it was a good enough idea, and I had known when Enzo had said something, he meant it. "And the 'teenage girl' you're talking about? Was she with him when you shot him? Does she need to be on our radar aswell?" I decided to ask. Enzo contemplates. "She seemed important to him, like she was a group member of a certain thing. Probably friends with a bunch of kids that ran across my place I was staying a long time ago." Enzo answers. "Not our Main target, seemed pretty useless. But she'll be sure to die aswell." He says, and I couldn't help but wonder who this 'girl' was. "I mean, that's not too much of a far stretch. A small world around here. It seems big but most likely 'small.'" Corniyah puts in her two cents. Enzo nods, and looks at the rest of us. "We need to move."" Enzo says, and we had started to get our move back on.

Setting: Walking in the Forest ahead of them, The Sun illuminating their path.

No one's POV/3rd Person:

Elona had suggested that they should take a left on the trail, which was weird, but they had all gone along with it. After minutes of walking, they stumbled across something limp against a rock in the distance. Enzo stood a protective stance in front of them, unsure if whatever this was that they had found was safe or not. After he was sure it wasn't moving, he gave them the silent go ahead to approach it. It was a dead body, still and unmoving against the rock, on the side of its ribs, there was old blood staining the military uniform, pale and lifeless. Corniyah exchanged a look with Enzo who only looked down at her, silent. Masoma Seemed utterly disgusted and nauseated. Elona stood nearby Liam whose face was stoic, eyeing the body as if he couldn't care less about a dead person. "That him?" Liam asked bluntly, his

gaze settling on Enzo. "Sure of it." He crouched down, and he had looked behind The Dead body that appeared to be Sgt. Rudo, and there were footsteps from where he had come from, in pairs of four. So that must've meant someone, possibly and most likely Karis, was with him when he died. "Anything else?" Liam asks, and Corniyah seems sad, even. Although she had remembered the day he had shot her with an arrow, or something. She couldn't remember. And she wasn't sure if it was an 'accident' as it came out to be in Karis's words. She knew she shouldn't feel bad for someone that caused her harm. But something far back in her mind was slowly creeping to the front. She could only wonder how it must've felt for Karis, when she lost him. She couldn't imagine losing him herself.. She glances at Enzo, her eyes filled with sorrow. Especially not him. He's been the only one that cared for us. Corniyah really hoped that her worries wouldn't come true one day. And Karis was probably alone now. "I Say we should bury him." Corniyah finally spoke up, eyes glued to the floor. She knew everyone was looking at her weirdly, now. But she still couldn't help the fact that it felt cruel to just find a body and not physically put it at rest, especially when it was a person. "...." Liam looked like he wanted to tell her off and to not be sentimental about this, but it wouldn't make sense for him to do so, he never met this guy. So he just kept his mouth just, though still casting uncertain and confused glances. Enzo frowns, but sighs, walking over to her. "Fine. but this better not take up much of our time. Because we're going to have to get moving soon." He says, and gets ready to help with his 'grave' and whatnot.

After the Burial..

Now that Sgt. Rudo had been properly placed in the hole where his body would rest, they had started to cover it back up with dirt. Everyone looked at each other, they were on opposite sides, and it felt weird to pay respects for someone they were against, and not to mention that his 'Kids' are still out there as well, and that alone meant that this wasn't over just Yet. they nodded to one another, and turned around and started to continue to walk, it had seemed like this was taking forever, and it was, in a way. But they just hoped that they would at least get an okay ending.

To be continued.
