The Incident: Book 6, Part 15.(Book 6 Finale.)

W/ Elona.

Setting: In a dark, endless grass field, the moonlight mercilessly illuminates down on her. Rain Lightly Drizzling down mixed with cold, harsh wind.

Elona's POV/1st Person:

It was Absolutely FREEZING. I Had absolutely NO idea where I Was. I Couldn't hear any capybaras in earshot. I Don't know If I should've been relieved or even more scared. My Paranoia was completely at its peak right now. I looked down to see dried blood on the grass. Signs of struggle and some of the grass tore up, the dirt visible but now shifting into mud as the rainwater mixed with the dry dirt. This really isn't comforting. Like at all.. I turned around, and Saw something barely gleaming on top of the steep hill ahead of me. It wasn't very visible, So I had No Idea How I Caught that. I Decided to risk it and check it out. Not one of the smartest decisions I've made. I swear. I don't know what's gotten into me. I Guess I've Been a little more reckless. Maybe That's Why Enzo sent me off? Maybe He didn't want me there anymore. And Just lied, saying I was doing something 'important'. Which was Going on a supply run. Alone. But If That's the case, Why didn't he send Masoma off instead? She's way more annoying than me. Anyway, I Shook off my hypothetical thoughts and Continued to 'investigate.' I Crouched down near the slightly weird thingy, and Picked it up. It was a bullet. And that's when I realized there was more.

Scattered everywhere in a clumsy manner. Like someone accidentally dropped their bullets.

I roll my eyes. What a waste. Who would be that stupid to drop their bullets? It seems like something That Idiot Julian Would Do. THAT reminded me. What if They were dead too from all of this? I hope not. I Don't know why. I Never liked them. But I Hate the thought of being one of the few survivors of this weird-apocalypse outbreak thing. Oh, How I wish Someone was with me right now. I Glanced Around, scanning the field. Just in case someone or something did a sneak attack or was planning one right now. I heard a Rustle In The forest nearby. Something staggered out. It wasn't a capybara.. But a.. Person? I wanted to run over and greet them and thank them for showing up, but I held myself back, taking a few cautious steps away. The Person hasn't seemed to notice me.. Yet. No clue if that was a good or Bad thing. It was hard to identify or describe them through the darkness. I Managed to call out a '...Hello?-' The Person immediately reacted. "What?" The Person says. Okay... so it was a guy. He didn't sound too old. But he sounded mature enough to roughly around my age. He sounded exhausted, as well. He stepped A little closer. "Who Are you?" I say worriedly. Don't trust anyone, Elona.. I anxiously thought to myself. "I'm Liam." The guy says. "...You?" He adds. I gulp, rather unsure if I should give out my name to him or not. I Do Anyway. "Elona." I Say reluctantly. I saw his shadow nod. "I Won't bite, I promise." Liam had said. Most Likely Sensing My Apprehension. "Right.. Of Course." I mutter softly. He Took A few steps closer. He looked like he'd been through it. "Where did you come from?" LIam asked. I raise a brow. "I Was going on a Supply run. And You?" I ask curiously. He sighs. "I Just.. was... going on a little walk." He said. his sentence a little choppy, Like he came up with it on the spot. I didn't question. "Is It Just You?" Liam asks. I Sigh. "As Of RIght now. The Rain and Darkness of the night pretty much made me lose track of where I'm Going or where I am right now." I Say awkwardly. He only nods. "Yeah. I understand that. It's pretty rough out here. With the Capybaras and all." Liam adds nonchalantly. I Shrug. "We're a small group. Back at base, it's just me and My Friends. Corniyah, Masoma- And I guess you can call Enzo our friend." I say. Liam had froze. I grew confused. "Enzo?" Liam says, realization dawning on his face, before it shifted to a solemn one.

"Yeah, why? What's wrong?" I ask. He sighs. "Nothing. It's just that–.., I knew him for a long time. He was like a father to me. Haven't heard from him since all of this happened." Liam says. I listen. I nod sympathetically. "It Must've been hard." I say, trying to give any ounce of comfort. Or at least try. Liam glances at me. "Hey. Weird question. Not the time or place for this.. But.. Do You Know Mya? And Like the rest of her friends.. Julian.. Karis.. Jace.. Kennon.. Those Names ring any bells?' Liam Asked. I raise a brow, slightly tensing up. "I Do... in fact, they just so happen to be my childhood enemies. A history rooted way further back than you think. Before all of this happened. Corniyah, Masoma And I went to the same school as them. Well, Not Jace.. I Don't really know who she is or whatever.." I Say. Liam's Eyes visibly lightened up. "That's Great!- I mean uhm.." Liam says before awkwardly shuffling his feet. I look at him suspiciously and warily. "Why do you ask?" I queried, before he nodded and cleared his throat. He sighs, closing his eyes. Before reaching for something out of his belt slot and handing it to me. Realization dawned on Me when I realized what he had in his hand. "I assume you want them dead. Completely itching for it, no?" Liam says. What he was holding was a pistol. And he was giving it to me. I nod cautiously "That's If they already aren't." I mumbled. Liam chuckles, Shaking his head. "That's the thing; they're still alive. And that's the problem. Our Main Objective to survive, is to kill anyone.. That gets in our way. And that's exactly what we're doing.." Liam says, before grabbing a mag out of his belt once again, loaded next to his other weapons. He handed me the mag so casually like it was the most normal thing in the world. "Is to eliminate anyone or Anything outside of our group." Liam says. "Even If it causes a duel." "And I'm Sure.. You and your group... especially Enzo.. will be willing to join me on this.. Yeah? I have my own problems with them. We'd be quite the team. And we all have every reason to work together as a group; same motive, same hatred, same pain, and more." Liam says, glancing up at me. I only stared at him, expressionless. But I was completely shaken up inside. "So..." Liam Inhales. "What do you say? You in or out?" Liam says. "I...."
