YEAR: 2026

[Phil's POV]

The next morning we woke up about an hour before the kids so we just sat in silence. Around 10 Winston ran downstairs and crashed into the couch.

"Are you okay?" Dan chucked.
"Yeah, I'm just hungry," he mumbled.
"Your father is in the kitchen, probably raiding my cereal stash,"
"Okay!" He ran into the kitchen to find me eating Dan's cereal. "Bear said you'd be eating his stuff,"
"Oh, morning Winnie," I said with a mouth full of cereal.
"Morning dad!" he beamed, "Can I have some cereal?"
"Sure," I put Dan's box down, "what kind do you want?"
"I don't care," he pouted.
"Daddy I want cereal too!" Delilah yelled as she ran into the kitchen.
"Morning Dil," I said as I grabbed two bowls out of the cupboard.
"Why are you guys up so early?" she asked.
"Cause we're looking for a new house today,"
"What!" they yelled.
"Daddy I don't wanna move!"
"Yeah dad don't make us leave!"
"I'm sorry guys but it's for the best. It's way too crowded in here,"
"No it's not!" they protested.
"The house we're looking at is really close to Louise. We're gonna check it out around noon," I pat their heads and continued making them cereal. "Come on," I smiled as I brought their bowls to the table. "Eat up,"
"Thanks dad..." they pouted.
"Dan breakfast!" I called into the lounge.
"How much of my cereal did you eat?" he asked as he sat down in his gray chair.
"A few handfuls," I replied as I brought in two more bowls of cereal.
"Liar," he gave me a cheeky grin.

A few more hours passed and we were off to go look at open houses. First we checked out the house Louise recommend to us. It was a rather nice house, no owl slide though. It was two stories and there were 4 bedrooms along with 2 full baths.

"I love it," Dan mumbled as he held my hand.
"What?" I chuckled.
"I said Iloveit," he continued mumbling.
"What?"
"I said I love it!" he finally enunciated.
"Me too," I rested my head on his shoulder.
"This place is really big," Delilah twisted her face.
"I don't like it dad!" Winston cried.
"But you'll get your own room." I got down on my knees and looked at my sons sad eyes.
"But I have my own room!"
"No you have a closet," Dan said.
"Winnie, you'll like it here," I gave him a hug, "I promise,"
"Do you like it Dil?" Dan asked.
"Kinda..."
"We could get a koi pond!" Dan smiled.
"We could," I chuckled.
"Guys, I promise, if we do end up buying the house, you'll love it,"
"I'd like a koi pond," Delilah murmured.
"Me too I guess," Winston pouted.
"Alright, I'll put in an application," Dan pat my back as he went off to go find a real estate agent.
"You guys will like it,"
"Promise?" they pouted.
"I swear," I gave them a hug and waited for Dan to return.
"6 other people already put in applications," Dab nervously said as he returned.
"That's fine," I stood up and whispered to Dan, "we probably have more money then anyone here. We could easily outbid everyone,"
"Sometimes I feel like you forget that we have two kids and a dog to take care of."
"Dan, with our account combined we have over £5 million saved up! This house is only going for £300,000. We're fine," I smiled.
"I know..."
"Attention everyone!" The real estate agent yelled. "We have reached our limit for applications. Everyone who has not applied please go home, we appreciate your time for visiting the house." Everyone who had not applied sighed and left the house. "Alright, since the couple would like this house sold by today we're going to make a decision now. The couple is going to get final say." The couple gladly walked in and began looking at everyone. "So what are you guys looking for?" the agent asked.
"A nice family that will get along with the neighbors." they smiled. "Now would you guys mind introducing yourselves?"
A few couples stepped forward and said a few things about them and their family. Before we knew it, it was out turn.
"Um...hi...I'm Dan,"
"And I'm Phil," we waved. "These are our kids, Delilah and Winston,"
"Hi," they smiled.
"Where are you guys living now?"
"A small flat in London," I said.
"That's no place for children!" The lady yelled.
"Well, thats why we want to move,"
"We also have a dog!" Delilah cheered.
"You do?" The lady chuckled. "Thank you, we'll keep you in mind," she smiled.

After everyone was interviewed the couple stepped into another room to discuss who got the house.

"So who was your favorite?" The husband asked.
"I like the gay couple," she mumbled.
"Really?" he twisted his face.
"Yeah. They seem nice and they need a bigger home,"
"Wait...what were their names?"
"Dan and Phil,"
"Are they those fags you use to follow on the internet?"
"Yeah," she whispered.
"Please," he scoffed, "give the house to an actual family,"
"Why aren't we a family?" Winston asked.
"Winston!" she jumped. "What are you doing in here?"
"Why aren't we a family?"
"Well..." the man started.
"Is it because I don't have a mum?"
"Winston where are your dads?" the lady asked.
"Oh Winnie there you are!" I yelled as I ran into the dining room, where the couple was speaking. "Don't run off like that,"
"Sorry dad..."
"It's okay. Sorry for bothering you guys,"
"Phil," the lady called.
"Yeah?"
"We wanted you and your husband to have the house,"
"Nancy-"
"Phil," she ignores him, "how soon can you guys move in?"
"I-I don't know...let me ask Dan,"
"Bring him in," she smiles.
"Okay," I smiled. "Dan," I called.
"What?" he mumbled as he walked in with Delilah.
"We got the house," I smiled.
"We got the house!" he cheered. "Thank you so much," Dan gave Nancy a hug.
"You're welcome," she beamed.

Before we left, we signed a few papers and before we knew it, we owned the rights to the house.

"Well that was fun," Dan chuckled as he hauled a cab.
"It was," I smiled.
"Dad..." Winston whispered.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Why aren't we a family?"
