[Phil's POV]

"Dad," Winston yawned. "Get up,"
"What time is it?" I mumbled.
"Nearly noon,"
"Really?" I stretched out. "Mum normally wakes me up by ten," I teased.
"She didn't wake you up?"
"No," I said.
"Weird...she didn't make breakfast either,"
"Maybe she's seeing grandpa's grave,"
"Maybe," he sighed. "Come on dad, get up. I'm hungry,"
"What do you want me to do about it?" I chuckled.
"Dad," he whined.
"I'm coming," I grumbled as I rolled out of bed. "You should be making me breakfast y'know,"
"I know," he smirked. "Happy birthday dad,"
"Thanks," I said.
"Hey, why don't we go out?" Winston proposed.
"We could," I shrugged. "Do you wanna go out?"
"Yeah..."
"Then get dressed," I said.

I sat back down on my bed and put my glasses on; I immediately checked my phone.

Louise: Happy Birthday Philly!
Martyn: Happy Birthday Phil. I'll be over later.
Dan: happy birthday angel bean
Dil: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD
Cat: happy 50th

Call Dan

"Happy Birthday!" Dan yelled.
"Damn Daniel way to break to sound barrier,"
"How many times do we have to discuss this! That happens when you go fast you idiot!"
"Oh yeah..."
"You're so stupid," he chuckled. "What time did you get up? Your voice still sounds kinda groggy,"
"I got up a few minutes ago,"
"You're not gonna be able to sleep tonight,"
"I know," I smiled. "How's Dil?"
"Wanna talk to her?"
"Of course,"
"Dil!"
"Yeah?"
"Dad's on the phone,"
"Gimme! Hi daddy, happy birthday!"
"Hi princess, and thank you. How are you holding up?"
"Getting kinda sick of the hospital food but other than that I'm fine,"
"Bear's not sneaking you any food?"
"No," she chuckled. "I wish he was though. You should tell him to,"
"No, no. Stick to your hospital food,"
"I know...when are you coming home?"
"Two days,"
"Promise?"
"I swear. Can you put bear back on?"
"Oh, yeah, hold on. Bear,"
"Yeah?"
"Dad wants to talk,"
"Oh, Dil, before you go, I hope you feel better. I love you princess, I'll be home soon,"
"Love you too dad. Happy birthday,"
"Thanks," I smiled.
"Hey babe," Dan said, taking the phone back.
"Whoa there, don't you think were a bit old for babe?" I teased
"Well, I thought, man, he's getting old, I should really young him down,"
"Man, you really want birthday sex,"
"I really want birthday sex," he repeated.
"Well, I'll be home in a few days then you can ride me like a-"
"Dad,"
"Winnie!" I gasped as I dropped my phone. "Wh-What are you doing?"
"I heard you talking," he raised a brow. "Is that bear?"
"Yeah,"
"Can I talk to him?"
"He um, he needs to go,"
"I can talk to him for a few minutes,"
"Alright...here Winnie,"
"Thanks," he said. "Hey bear,"
"Hey kiddo. How's grandma?"
"She's fine," he shrugged.
"Can we talk to her? Dil misses her a lot,"
"Yeah, hold on," he said. "Dad, can you give the phone to grandma?"
"Yeah, of course," I said. I took the phone from his hand and headed for my mother's room. "Mum," I said as I knocked on the door. "Mum," I repeated as I walked in. "Dan, she's sleeping," I whispered.
"Wake her up!" Dan yelled. "It's nearly one in the afternoon!"
"Fine," I rolled my eyes. "Mum," I said as I shook her. "Mum...get up," I said with an annoyed tone in my voice. "Mum!" I yelled. Then it hit me. I dropped my phone, fell onto the bed, and started feeling around for a pulse. There was nothing. "Mum," I cried. "Mum, please get up..." Tears streamed down my face as I continued to shake her.
"Phil? What's going on? What's wrong?"
"Winnie!"I cried.
"Phil!"
"Yeah dad?"
"Call an ambulance,"
"Why?" Winston asked. He picked up my phone and hit end call.
"She died..."
"Oh my god...no...no...she's okay. She's just sleeping, right?"
"Winston," I cried as I hugged him. "She's dead,"
"No," he sobbed. "Sh-She's fine, she's-"
"Winston!" I yelled as I pushed him out of the room.
"Dad," he cried into my chest.
"Shhh," I whispered.
"I-I wanna go home..."
"I know," I sobbed.
