I nodded sadly as I sat down next to her.

'Well... beautiful... you were a lovely baby. Playful, sweet and very brave...' I said as I swallowed.

I'm not gonna tell her everything... I'll tell her that when she's older.
I continued:

'Everytime I asked you something, your eyes shimmered as if you were anwsering yes.' I said tearing up again.

'Really mummy?' She asked.

I nodded feeling my eyes get heavy from tears.

'That's so special! Now all the girls in my class will be jealous.' She said smiling.

'Who would not be jealous of you lovely?' I said stroking her cheek.

'I love you mummy!' She said wrapping her little arms around my neck.

'I love you too sweetheart...' I said holding her tight.

That's when mum woke up.

'Angeles, darling, you're back!' She said getting out of the bed without Manu and Lara waking up.

'Yes and German's safe and sound.' I said.

'That's great.' She said.

'Thanks for babysitting mum.' I said whilest giving her a hug.

'My pleasure dear, those kids of yours are sweetie pies!' She said.

'I know right?' I said grinning.

'Okay, I'm going. Say hi to Vilu and German would you?' She said.

'I will.' I said.

'Thanks. Bye Lucía!' She beamed as she gave Lucía a stroke over her head.

'Bye granny!' She said.

I feel so guilty...
