Laura's POV

I woke up from one of the worst dreams I think I've ever had...

Maia was there.

Ross was there.

And... I was there too.

But that dream isn't a dream anyone would want to be in.

"Laura c'mon... We're gonna eat dinner soon," Riker held out his hand to help me out of the bed.

Once my feet hit the ground, I couldn't keep my balance.

"Whoa!" I screamed nearly falling.

"Laura!" Riker grabbed me by the hip, making sure I don't fall, "Are you ok?"

I nodded, "Yeah. Thanks :)"

"Anytime," he smiled.

I looked up, seeing everyone was staring at us.

Stormie was smiling.

Mark was smiling.

Rydel and Kelly were smiling, looking at the ground.

Rocky and Ryland had their eyes wide open.

Ratliff was laughing a little.

And Vanessa had her cheeks rose red.

Oops.

"We should, uh, go downstairs now!" I said to Riker.

"Uh, yeah... Sure..."

I looked into his eyes, smiling, and slowly got up.

Whoa. What just happened?

That has never happened between me and Riker before... And I mean never.

I decided to shake that off for a while.

I walked down the stairs, as to where I definitely failed. So Riker held me again and had his other hand holding mine.

This just felt different... Almost like... Ross.

"You ok sweetie?" Stormie asked.

"I'm fine. Thanks for asking mom," I said.

I think it's really sweet how Stormie and Mark just want us to call them mom and dad.

It just makes us feel a lot more welcome into the family.

After 30 minutes into dinner, everyone was just quiet, eating their food.

Then, my phone suddenly rang.

Hm, text message.

From... Riker 😜

We both had random, matching name's on our phone.

I put his caller ID name to "RikersHotChocolate," and in his phone, my name is "LaurasGoGurt." It's pretty cute.

I wish Ross and I were more like this...

RikersHotChocolate: Wanna ditch this place? :D

LaurasGoGurt: Wouldn't that be wrong? Haha 😝

RikersHotChocolate: Don't worry about it ;) Got ya covered! Just say you're going to the bathroom :)

LaurasGoGurt: Got it!

"I'll be right back, I'll just go to bathroom," I said.

"I'll just help her walk," Riker said as he followed behind me.

Once we went upstairs and got out of sight from the rest, we both laughed a bit.

"I can't believe we just did that," I laughed.

"Never done anything bad before?" He asked.

"Nope, not really," I laughed again, "So, what are we gonna do?"

"Hm, how about I play the bass?" Riker asked as he took the bass from my room that was hanging on the wall.

I sat properly, facing him and smiled.

He sang the first line and I already knew what song it was.

"I played it safe"

"I kept my foot up on the brake"

"I never really took a chance in life"

"And didn't live for today"

I started smiling throughout the whole song. It was so sweet and definitely one of my favorites.

Vanessa's POV

"Do you hear music?" I asked.

"Sounds a lot like Crazy 4 U," Delly laughed.

"Someone's playing our song," Rocky said.

"I'll go check."

I went upstairs to where the sound if coming from and walked into Laura's room.

"Laur-"

I was suddenly cut off and I hid right away after I saw Riker playing the bass and singing.

Wait.

So, he was the one singing... To Laura...

Did that just happen?
