Shouldering your school bag, your sneakered feet squeak against the sidewalk, as you match footsteps with your best friend Park Jinyoung. You've been best friends since you were in diapers, you told him anything and everything. But unlike most of what the school community thought, NO both of you weren't dating.

You didn't even think of him in that way to borrow a middle school expression. In fact, you already had an incredible boyfriend at school. Jeon Jungkook. One of the most handsome guys you've ever laid eyes on. And out of all the girls in school, he chose you. It had already been 6 months that both of you were going out but your head was still in the clouds.

'Are you thinking about that boyfriend of yours again?' Jinyoung, nudging you with his elbow, asks.

'Hmmmm, maybe,' you grin, slapping his arm playfully.

'You guys have been going out for 6 months and you still can't get over it?' he teases, echoing your thoughts perfectly.

'Oh shush.' you protest playfully. 'At least I have a boyfriend,' you tease, poking you best friend's arm. 'When are you going to get a girlfriend then hmmmm?'

'I'm just not in the mood, (Y/N)' he sighs. 'Besides none of the girls in my school are my type,' he shrugs, looking at you.

'Oh come on, just choose one of them, sooooo many of them are dying to go out with you,' you encourage. It was true, your best friend was actually one of the most handsome guys in school, according to the female community at least. You've had girls constantly harassing you, asking about him, wanting his number. Some of the girls even hated you, because they assumed both of you were going out. There were constant whispers behind your back, and dagger-like glares, everytime you walked back together after school.

'Aish, I can't just close my eyes and pick out a random girl from a crowd now can I?' he protests, as both of you reach the school gate.

As you open your mouth to respond, your words get cut off at the sight of your boyfriend, leaning against the school gate, waiting for you. He sends you a gleaming smile which captures 99.9% of your attention. 'There you are,' he grins, taking your hand. 'Come on, we have first period Bio together,' pulling you to his side, away from Jinyoung.

'Okay okay, bye Jinyoung!' you shout, waving goodbye as you walk hand in hand with him to class.

Jinyoung's POV

He drags her away by the arm and my anger flashes, wanting to hold her back, but, in the end I let her go. She smiles at him and looks up love clear in her eyes. Her eyes. The eyes I stared in everyday for as long as I can remember. Eyes that I've longed for. For her to finally notice me. I don't even remember feeling this way. But it happened. I'm in love with my best friend. The girl who wouldn't even give me a second glance when he's around.

Closing my eyes I think back to the conversation we had before she was whisked away from me. I sigh, feet dragging as I make my way to the locker before the bell rings, thinking of the day she would ever be mine.

You POV

Clutching at my books, you stuff them in your locker, not caring how they landed as long as all fit. Slamming it shut, you turned around, where Jungkook was waiting for you.

'Hey,' you grin, bounding up to him.

'Hey, you,' he replies, giving that slow smile you loved.
