jinyoung as crush

Jinyoung's POV

Snow crunches under my boots as I rub my hands together to keep myself warm. Even with warm mittens on, the cold was deep, biting. Pulling the scarf closer to my face, I notice my breath misting in the winter air.

Just a few more minutes I thought determined to myself, resisting the cold weather. Seeing the warm bright glow of my destination gives me the burst of energy I needed. I slowly feel myself relaxing and a smile breaks out on my pale, lips.

Opening the door gently, accompanied with the jangle of a small bell, the warmth of my favorite place in the world, washes over me providing some much needed relief. The smell of leather bound books and old paper, is like a comforting mother, wrapping me in her arms, I feel relaxed and at home.

Heading straight for my favorite section, I pick out particular book that I've been wanting to read only to be stopped by a hand reaching out for the SAME book.

Reader's POV

Taking a break from your world of high school, assignments and projects, you found yourself at your local library, eager for some form escape, which books had always provided for you.

Your (E/C) flicking to all the titles available, when one finally caught your eye, a beautiful red-leather bound book. Reaching out on your tiptoes, barely reaching even with your sneakers, you hold on to the book and was about to take it out from the shelf when something stopped you.

Another hand had been reaching for the same book. Glancing up, you're slightly surprised to see Park Jinyoung, one of your schoolmates and trainee at JYP Entertainment. You guys weren't close and he was WAY out of your league and everytime you saw him at school, he gave off a very cold, chic manner, causing many girls to avoid him although many would die to be with him.

'Oh, um,' you mutter awkwardly and going red, still holding determinedly to the book.

'I'm sorry, did you want to read this too?' he asked in warm voice, kindness shining through his dark brown eyes.

Taken aback by his thoughtfulness, all you did was nod, your lips seemed to be sealed. Chuckling at your shy expression, he slips the book from the shelf and presses it into your hands. 'Here,' he said softly.

Muttering a quick thank you, you duck your head and make your way to your favorite spot, near the window where snowflakes drifted like little cotton puffs, illuminated by a bright street lamp, contrasting against the pitch-black night.

Settling yourself into a cushion, you made yourself comfortable, plugging your earphones into your phone and opened up the book, paying attention to the delicate spine as you began to read.

Humming to yourself slowly, you drunk up the book like it was the last thing you would ever do. You were so preoccupied with it that you didn't notice a pair of eyes staring at you from afar.

Jinyoung's POV

Her dark hair, spills over, covering most of her face, as she devours the words in the book. She's so engrossed in it, I nearly want to laugh, but at the same time, I'm grateful, because watching her read is very riveting. The curve of her smile and sparkle in her eyes as she reads a certain sentence or the how her hands always play with her hair as she reads, or maybe it's the way her (E/C) eyes are so focused on following every single word.

Sighing, I try to distract myself from staring at her, instead flipping through random books, I pick off from the shelf, but it's no use, my eyes just turn back to her everytime, she's so beautiful. Giving up, I pick up a random book, not even bothering to look at the title and make my way to her spot.

Praying hard that I wasn't making a horrible mistake, I stepped up to her and nudged her gently. She looks up, her clear eyes, looking at me with a look of confusion and slight apprehension, she pulls her earphones out and asks: 'Um yes?'

Taking a deep breath and preparing myself mentally before I accidentally blurted out anything stupid I asked her hesitantly. 'Do you mind if I sit here?' I whispered, motioning to the empty space beside her.

She seems to think for a while, her pink lips slightly pursed, before finally nodding and making some space for me. Settling myself next to her she continues reading, ignoring me completely.

Gritting my teeth in frustration, I rack my brain, thinking of what I should say to her but all I can think of is how close she's sitting next to me, our arms nearly touching. I must have been so pre-occupied that I didn't realize I was staring at her, not even paying the slightest attention to the open book in my hand.

Reader's POV

The words which you had so eagerly absorbed just now, seemed to start dancing on the paper, your brain was so distracted. You had this ridiculous urge to take a small peek at Jinyoung, just one small tiny little peek. Your eyes thankfully hidden by your long curtain thick hair flicked to him, noticing that he wasn't even READING it was more like he was staring at YOU. Feeling slightly uncomfortable, you turn to him, face already turning pink.

'Um Jinyoung? Are you okay? You seem really distracted,' you mutter, looking at the floor, not daring to look him in the eye.

'Huh? What?' he asked, blinking as if he just came out of a stupor. 'No, no, I- just- um- you look really familiar that's all,' he blurted out. 'Are you studying at (Y/SCHOOL NAME) by any chance? I could've sworn I've seen you before,' he said rapidly, like he had been holding back his questions for a long time.

'Yeah, I do go to (Y/S/N) and I'm flattered that the famous Park Jinyoung remembers me,' you tease.

Turning red, he scratches the back of his neck, grinning sheepishly which you found rather endearing, it made him look like a little kid.

'Pfft, I'm not famous, that's ridiculous,' he denies vehemently.

'Not according to the entire school population,' you fire back, as quick as lightning. 'Who doesn't know Park Jinyoung? Trainee at JYPE, one of the smartest kids in school and not to mention making our entire female community faint at the sight of him,'

'Well,' he mused thoughtfully, light dancing in his eyes. 'I should walk the school halls more often then,' he laughs. 'Just wondering, do I have such a strong effect on you?' he asks, eager for your answer.

Struck dumbfounded by his straightforwardness and honesty, you hear yourself stutter a bit: 'W-What Park Jinyoung, I-I do NOT,' you said voice slightly raised.

Resisting the urge to laugh at your expression, he places a gentle finger on your lips, effectively shutting you up, before you embarrassed yourself even more. 'Shhh, you're going to get us kicked out, just when we're having a nice little conversation here, besides you don't have to tell me, I can already tell exactly how I effect you from your reply,' he winks, before taking one last glance at your red face and going back to his book, reading it calmly, as if nothing had happened between the both of you.
