Remember Me

Dipper held his breath as he entered the room, not knowing what condition she would be in. Her parents hadn't told her exactly what happened to her, they just gave a brief summary about the whole situation.

Flashback. . .

"We dunno exactly how it happened," Priscilla Southeast explained softly, sitting on-edge on the sofa. "One minute she's laughing and happy and the next, she can't even recognize her own parents." She choked up on the word 'parents' and looked to Preston, her husband, for support.

"The doctors told us that there was nothing we could do to bring her memories back." Preston said, sitting down next to his wife. "I know that we've never excepted our daughter being with you but-" he paused to clear his throat trying his best to mask his sadness "-we were hoping that you could possibly bring back her memories."

Dipper couldn't move a muscle. He was frozen to where he stood, half inside half outside, the Southeasts' living room. He felt more anger than he had ever felt in his entire seventeen years of life in this exact moment.

They have to be lying to me, he thought bitterly. "You're lying." He said in the same tone as how he thought it. "You're just trying-"

"Trying to do what?" Preston demanded.

Dipper bit his lip in anger, thinking about how exactly they would be trying to keep him away from Pacifica. That wouldn't work. "Does she-"

"We dunno." Priscilla interrupted. "We left her in the doctors care, just to see how they could possibly help her."

Dipper didn't stick around much longer to hear what ever bullshit they had left to say. "Where are you going?" Preston Southeast demanded as Dipper raced out into the rain.

"Where else?!" The seventeen year old man retorted over his shoulder.

Flashback Over. . .

He struggled with opening the door. It was like he couldn't possibly remember what (or where) the doorknob was. After fumbling with it for a moment, he opened the door and nearly ran into the room. He saw her lying on her bed, sleeping.

Dipper walked over to her and grasped her hand. "Pacifica?" He whispered.

The girl's eyes opened immediately and she shrieked, pulling her hand free from his own.

Dipper felt whatever was left of his heart shatter. "P-Pacifica it's me." He held both of her hands in his own.

She shook her head, seeming to calm down. Pulling her hands free of Dipper's once more, she was fully relaxed. Although she smiled slightly at him, she had no idea who he was.

Dipper felt something wet sting the corners of his eyes. He blinked the tears away furiously and looked Pacifica in the eye. "Pazzie. . ." he whimpered. "You know me, you. . .you love me." He pleaded desperately.

She shook her head, still smiling. But she was looking right through him. And it hurt the boy more and more each time she shook her head.

Dipper took a deep, shaky breath. "Say my name," he whispered, "so I will know you're back, you're here again. . .for awhile." He looked at her with desperate eyes.

But the girl showed no emotion, she just plainly smiled at him as he tried to jog her memory.

"Let us share the memories that only we can share. . .together." He stroked her hair as she slowly started to fall asleep and it hurt him. "You touch my hand, these colors come alive. In your heart and in your mind, leaving today behind to be with you. . .again." He held her hand tightly as she slipped back into slumber.

"We breathe the air, do you remember how you used to touch my hair?" He gently moved a piece of her hair out of her face. It suddenly hit him hard when he realized that she couldn't remember everything they went through together. "You're not aware." He muttered bitterly, "your hands keep still you just dunno that I am here." He kissed her hand and laid it down slowly.

He turned away in anguish, "it hurts too much, I pray now that you're released from it all." Dipper ran a hand through his already-raked-through hair, which was due to stress, and looked back at Pacifica. He held onto the rails of the hospital bed, barely holding his composure together. His eyes were like dams ready to burst, but he wouldn't allow himself to cry.

"Please say my name," he pleaded.

"Do I Know You?"

"Remember who I am. You drift away again too far from where I am, when you ask me who I am." A couple teardrops fell from his eyes, "say my name. These colors come alive in your heart and in your mind. I cross the borders of time, leaving today behind to be with you again." He cried, not caring if he was crying. "Say my name."
