"I can't believe it's an Alora day," I heard Emma exclaim from outside my room. "It's been forever," she sighed, and I could hear the smile in her voice.

"I know, Em," Ava sighed too. "Now you have a mission to complete," she said in a determined tone.

"Aye aye, Captain."

"Find out her triggers," Ava started.

"And tell you by the end of the day. Got it," Em completed for her, as if she'd heard the same thing four million times. When Ava was determined to do something, she made sure she got it done. I admired that about her.

Now I had to find out what that something was.

"Tell her what at the end of the day? Alora Day? Triggers?" I spat out all at once.
Smooth, Alora, smooth.

Ava and Emma shared a look. "You've had a hard time," Ava said finally, after a long pause.

"We just wanted to give you a day to relax and catch up with Emma," she continued, still looking Em in the eye.

"Your anxiety attacks worry us, Lor. We need to get to the bottom of those and find out what's bothering you."

I let out an exasperated sigh. "Come on, you guys. I'm fine."

Ava rolled her eyes. "You know I'd love to believe that, but-"

"The more you try to make it a problem-" I started, in my usual monotone.

"The more it will become one," Emma finished for me, as always.

"What's your problem in having one nice day?" Ava demanded. "Your dad let you ditch school and you have a cute girlfriend. Buy some food, watch a sappy romcom and braid each other's hair, I don't know!"

"Fine," I grumbled, ignoring the hair comment. Emma swooped in to gently kiss my cheek, and I couldn't help but smile. That girl was literally everything.

"The Notebook or Sleepless in Seattle?" Emma asked, turning on my TV.

"Don't tell me you were serious about that," I whined, flopping onto the couch.

"Have fun you two," Ava sang, winking at us before she walked out the door.

"I'll be leaving too," Dad called, entering the living room. "I won't be back for lunch, so feel free to order anything you want. It's just today, though, so don't get too excited."

I beamed. "You're being awfully nice. Are you making up for something, Dad?" I joked.

"Oh no, you caught me!" Dad chuckled. "Just don't break anything. Furniture, bones, laws- you know the drill."

"Don't worry, we'll be okay," I smiled reassuringly.

"Tell us your joke of the day," Emma chirped. She was clearly sucking up to him, which she really didn't have to do because he loved her from the moment I first introduced them.
