Chapter 42...
Before Astrid could release her second hand, she felt two hands grab her and force her back against the fencing of the bridge. She gasped as the shock of being grabbed overcome her, knowing at that moment she could have jumped. Astrid looked back to see who grabbed her... Hiccup.
He immediately made sure her hands were firmly on the fence before he lifted her over so she was back on the safe part of the bridge. She climbed over and was immediately engulfed into a large hug, she could hear him breathing heavily from panic and relief in her ear as his head was buried into her shoulder. He had one hand on her back and one on the back of her head, holding her close.
Hiccup didn't want to let go. He never told Astrid but one of his worst fears was loosing her. Just the thought of her leaving him and the idea that she was going to jump completely shattered his heart into pieces. He just held her. Tight.
Astrid began to tear up as she couldn't hold back the pain anymore.
After a few minutes, Hiccup released the hug and put his hands to Astrid's face, cupping her cheeks. He saw the tears in her eyes. She saw the tears in his.

He burst into tears, letting go of Astrid's face and covering his own eyes. Even they couldn't stop the tears from falling down his cheeks. He collapsed to the floor, hks knees falling weak. Watching him in despair, Astrid bent down and kneeled infront of him heart broken. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her childhood bestfriend turned boyfriend was sobbing his eyes out... but why?
She just pulled him into a meaningful hug. He burried his head in her neck as he sobbed, gently caressing his soft hair.
"I loose you!! I... I can't!" He sobbed. Hearing those words made Astrid's tears fall from her eyes. They were now both crying with eachother. Hiccup moved his arms around Astrid and brought her into his arms again.
"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done it! I couldn't help it! I'm so sorry Hiccup!" She wailed as she spoke. Hiccup didn't care anymore.
She was safe.
For now.
