[One Week Later]
I stand on the platform, watching the fireworks as they explode. Merlock laughs as he conjures up more. I smile.
Last week, we found out that Merlock was actually still alive. We got all the evil out of Jestro, and he returned to normal. Merlock's library has been restored. And, after everything that's happened, fire doesn't bother me that much anymore. We all stand in a line, next to King Halbert, as he speaks to the Kingdom about peace and success.
It's been a year since this whole thing started.
I'm standing in between Jestro and Macy. We watch our kingdom, the one we defended, cheer and laugh and smile for the first time in what seems like forever. Jestro looks up at the fireworks, but his face twists into a frown. He shivers.
"Jestro," Clay puts a hand on his shoulder. "You okay? You look like you just saw a ghost!"
"No," He says. "I'm good. Thanks!" After a few more minutes, we all go back inside with Macy's mom and dad.
"We should all celebrate together, just the nine of us." King Halbert laughs. "We could have a bonfire, and-" He stops and looks at me. "Oh, right, I forgot."
"No, no!" I nod. "I'd love to have a bonfire."
