"I'll go get my phone, just give me a minute" Mansoo said rushing back inside his house while Jaemin and Jeno loitered on the outside in the car.
"Why can't any one of us just go live in with him instead of making him move??" Jeno said, looking at Jaemin who was seated ahead with his hands on the steering wheel.
"Who? You?" Jeno shook his head earning a laugh from Jaemin.
"Don't you think Yena could be of some help?" Jaemin asked and he nodded.
"But you know Chenle right.." Jeno replied and his shoulders fell, knowing Chenle did not like Yena since the start.
"What's taking him so long?" Jaemin asked as the two looked at the house ahead.
"I'll check" "Me too, wait" The two walked towards Mansoo's house, knocking on his door as they called out his name but all they got was silence.
The two pushed the door open entering inside and their eyes widened noticing him lying on the floor- dead.
"Shit! He must be here, search!" Jaemin let out as the two made their way to search around his entire house for the killer but was no where to be seen.
"Call them" Jeno said and nodding, Jaemin made a call to the rest of them as they searched for any clues till their arrival.
"Did you find any?" "No, you?" "I didn't either"
Just then the others had arrived, standing along side the two.
"Oh fuck" Donghyuck muttered, looking down at the lifeless body lying on the floor in front of him- pool of blood below him as the pure white tiles stained deep red.
"How?" "He told he would get something from inside but when we came to check we saw this" "So the killer was right here?" "He was, we couldn't find him" "We lost our witness as well now.."
"Any clues?" "Literally no traces- also he moved everything to the new apartment, there's nothing to search for"
"What was it that he wanted to take?" Chenle asked and the two shook their head.
"It should still be here" "Let's go" Donghyuck and Renjun began searching for what Mansoo had come back to take from his house.
"Where's Jisung?" "He told he would com—oh there he is" Jeno pointed at Jisung who just entered the house.
"What took you so lo— Yena??" Upon hearing Jaemin, Chenle drifted his eyes to view the person who trailed behind Jisung.
"Why is she here?" Chenle asked, rolling his eyes at the girl.
"I called her, she could help" Jisung replied, standing beside Yena who stared at the body in front.
"We don't need your help" Chenle mumbled, audible enough to Yena who stood beside him. Yena looked down feeling hurt by his words- trying to get her thoughts off how rude he sounded yet she couldn't.
"Lee Mansoo?" "Yes.."
"There's nothing!" Donghyuck and Renjun let out in unison, approaching the others. "Oh Yena..good to see you" Renjun said, looking at girl who smiled in return and he was about to speak but earning a glare from Chenle brought him to a stop.
"He was stabbed or..?" Jeno paused waiting for Yena to reply.
"It doesn't look anything like Minhee's- he was probably stabbed to death" Yena replied looking at the numerous cuts that filled his body.
"But why did he lie about leaving out something..?" "Are there two killers? Don't tell me..." Donghyuck let out, confused and horrified at the same time.
"It's just one. Mansoo wasn't his target at first, he became his target cause he is a witness—" "Shut up will you?" Chenle interjected, eyeing the girl before looking down at the body.
"Hyung she has a point" "So you believe a stranger more than me?"
"Hyung it's not like that, she isn't wrong though" "Yes Chenle, try listening to her—" "So she matters more than me to you all?"
"Chenle stop— "Then ask her to solve the fucking case, I'm out" Chenle spat, turning around to leave- annoyed at both Jisung and Yena.
"Hyung!" Jisung called out but Chenle did not stop, as he walked away from the others.
"But she is righ—" "Jisung... I'll leave" Yena cut in, looking at Jisung making Chenle stop on his tracks.
"Hyung is—" "He's more important Jisung, I'll leave.." "Yena—" "Please" Jisung stopped upon hearing her.
"We'll convince him. We need you Yena" Jeno said and she shook her head.
"And don't contact me again, if it's about the case" Yena said, walking away from the rest and past Chenle.
"Also," Yena spoke, stopping on her tracks before facing Chenle who looked up at the sky- uninterested to even spare her a look.
"I won't be out after 10, so you don't have to confront me anymore" "Oh really? How nice.." Chenle stated sarcastically, as he lazily drew his eyes down to the girl, meeting her pained gaze- tears dwelling in her eyes.
"It's easy to hurt others but you can never take words back Mr. Zhong, remember that" "Aren't you leaving? You're pretty annoying" "You must hate me a lot.." "Why doubt that?" Yena let out a weak smile before heading out of the place leaving Chenle and the other five alone.
