"I want you all to make five laps- continuous laps"
Mr. Kang said, earning groans from all of them.

"Sir five is a lot! We're here to practice not sprint!"
"Do it or quit the team"
"Fine.."

"How the heck does he think we will survive five laps of 800 meters track?"
Yena mumbled, cursing him under her breath.

"He's a fucking psycho I swear"
Miri glared at the elder man who stood in front of the fifteen students who were a part of the college basketball team.

Mr. Kang blowing the whistle snapped them out of their conversation as they began jogging- groans and complaints filling them as they forcefully dragged their feet along the track.

"What nonsense is this?? Run like nineteen year old kids!"
Mr. Kang yelled out as they fastened their pace hearing him.

"He's dumb to use 'nineteen' and 'kids' in the same sentence- I better take English lessons for that old man"
Yena commented making Miri and the two boys ahead of them who heard her words burst out laughing.

"Run faster kids!"
The four had another round of good laughter upon hearing 'kids' again.

"You're a funny one"
Hyunjin commented, lifting his hand up for a fist bump and she gladly she gave him one- a proud grin plastered on her face.

"Babe you're getting famous"
Miri winked at Yena earning a chuckle from her.

"Thanks to that old man"
Yena said and she smiled at her.

"Two more fast!"
Mr. Kang whistled out loudly and not having another choice they followed his instructions.

"Ye-na I— I can't r-run-"
"What did you say?"
Yena leant a bit closer to Miri whilst running, tying to hear what the girl was saying.

"I f-eel di-zzy b-abe"
"Huh?"
Yena stopped on her track upon noticing Miri slow down, hand clutching her chest as she tried to breath in more air.

"Mi what is wr— Miri!"
Yena rushed towards the girl who collapsed onto the floor, unconscious.

"I'll help you"
Hyunjin came forward, offering help as the two carried Miri to the infirmary.

The nurse spoke as she checked her pulse.
"Did she run or do any heavy exercise?"
"We had practice going on"
"She probably stressed a lot on herself- just dizziness from stress, nothing much. She'll be awake in a few or so, don't worry"
Yena nodded, thanking her before pulling a chair and sitting down next to the bed on which Miri was placed.

"I'll get some water for you two"
Hyunjin said, walking out of the room leaving them alone.

"Wake up Mi.. tell me you are fine"
Yena mumbled to herself, looking at her friend.

Not long after, Hyunjin came back with two water bottles in his hands.
"Thank you"
Yena grabbed the bottle from him, chugging it down feeling much better.

Just then, Miri slowly opened her eyes, regaining consciousness.
"How are you feeling Mi?"
"Better babe"
"What has put you under stress Mi?"
"Stress? No.."
Yena and Hyunjin shared a look, confused.

"Oh.. why did you feel dizzy then?"
"I don't know. Probably cause I ran too much"
"Let's get Mr. Kang arrested.."
Hyunjin commented, earning a laugh from Miri.

"Yena knows whom to approach"
"Who?"
"Who else? Your crush"
"Me?"
"Zhong Chen—"
"Shut up Miri!"
"Ouch! Kidding babe- I know you like him though"
"You're talking nonsense"
"Admit it Kim Yena!"

"Your shift is over. You can leave Yena"
Nodding, Yena grabbed her bag making her way out of the restaurant.

And for the first time she had seen the empty streets filled with a decent number of people.

"So people live in here? Nice"
Yena muttered, watching everyone around her as she head back home.

"How was your first day?"
The voice startled her yet she recognized the person turning to face them with a smile.

"It was good Mark, thanks"
Yena replied and her eyes drifted to the person beside.

"Jisung?"
"Hey Yena. Long time"
He lifted his hand up waving at her and she returned the boy smile.

"How's the progress regarding the case?"
Yena asked, looking at the two and the smile on Jisung's face died down which she did not fail to notice.

"The same.. we are trying to find similarities between the previous cases under another officer and these"
Mark replied making her eyes flicker to the elder boy as he talked.

"What's with him..?"
Yena asked- lowly whispering so she wasn't heard by Jisung.

"He and Chenle got into a fight, pretty bad since then"
Mark said and she nodded, looking down as she walked.

"I miss the old Chenle.."
Mark mumbled under his breath yet Yena clearly heard him- perplexed as to what his words meant.
