CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR: Call

7pm, just a little after his entire class had finished eating dinner. Izuku was at his own room for a video call with his family.

He made sure to keep the lights in his room off before he sat down in front of his laptop and the video call began. Tenko, Eri, and Hisashi were at their living room at home.

"Izuku-nii! Izuku-nii!" Eri exclaimed as she stood on the couch, on the verge of jumping up and down in excitement.

"You'd never guess where Tenko-nii brought me today! We went to a toy store! Every shelf was full of toys-there were even teddy bears bigger than me!" The little girl excitedly explained, making Izuku giggle.

"Tenko-nii bought me the hugest one! It's in my room! I want to show you but it's really heavy." Eri said, slightly disappointed.

Izuku laughed, then he smiled at his little sister, "It's okay, Eri. Just send me a picture later."

"So how's your second day living at UA? Comfortable, I hope." Tenko asked. He stood behind the long couch where Eri and Hisashi sat.

"Yes, it's fine. The rooms have enough space and are air conditioned. We also get our own fridge, and there's a bathroom and a closet as well." Izuku explained.

"We continued the rest of our camp activities earlier, and we started to develop our super moves." Izuku added.

Tenko frowned after hearing that, "Super moves? Don't tell me your going to use your super arms as your super move."

(a/n: "super arm" refers to the twisted and mutated arms)

"No!" Izuku immediately denied in an almost insulted way. Making Hisashi and Tenko a little concerned.

Izuku cleared his throat then backtracked, "I mean, no. They're not going to be my super move. Don't worry, I learned my lesson. I'll only use my five Quirks from now on like originally planned."

Tenko sighed in relief, "Good. Remember, if you use your super arm again, you're getting a mouthful from Eri."

"Isn't that right, Eri?" Tenko's question immediately received an energetic nod from their sister, making Izuku chuckle.

"How cruel, using our little sister against me." Izuku playfully said.

"It's working, so I don't feel bad at all." Tenko proudly retorted.

Hisashi was rightfully amused by his sons' brotherly banter, and it reminded him of similar times with his own brother, a long time ago.

Still, he thought that they had enough fooling around for now, and decided to bring back the topic about super moves, "So have you thought of a super move yet?"

He actually thought about bringing up Izuku's unusual reaction earlier but fought against it. His son didn't seem like he would be eager to talk about it. Maybe a topic for another day.

Izuku took a while before answering, slightly despondent, "No, not yet. I don't know what super move I want to have. I don't think I want to use my arms for a while."

"I'm a little worried." Izuku expressed, "The Provisional License Exams is in ten days, and if I don't have a super move by then, I might be left behind."

The call went quiet for a while after such a downing statement. Tenko was concerned for his little brother. He could tell that Izuku had more troubles in his mind.

Maybe letting Izuku leave home immediately was a bad idea. Maybe we should've let him stay home with us for a little longer until he got enough rest. That was all that Tenko could think of at that moment.

Meanwhile, Hisashi had been muttering to himself as he tugged on his chin. It felt like forever since Izuku last saw his father mutter. Compared to his and Tenko's muttering, Hisashi's seemed more quiet and collected.

A few seconds later, Hisashi finished muttering and suggested to his son, "What about using your martial arts style with Power Limb? I don't recall you've ever used your super legs for offense."

Tenko couldn't help but scoff a bit.

"Well, that's because he doesn't." Tenko interjected. "He's been trying copy All Might's fighting style of punch here, punch there, smash to this direction, smash to that direction."

"The only part of Izuku's Power Limb fighting style that's not All Might-inspired is when he uses his super claps and even those he doesn't use enough." Tenko looked straight at Izuku through the call, "Isn't that right, my stubborn little brother?"

"You have a point. When using other Quirk combinations, Izuku's fighting styles are more inventive, but when it comes to Power Limb, he becomes an All Might copy." Hisashi commented while tugging on his chin.

Izuku couldn't help but chuckle nervously. Then he called out his father and brother in an almost joking tone, "No fair! You two are teaming up against me again!"

Hisashi and Tenko couldn't help but laugh.

"But, being serious, Izuku." Hisashi told his youngest son. "I think it's time you stop copying All Might, and start fighting like you. Your Power Limb combination has more potential, even with just the five Quirks."

"Think about it, okay?" Hisashi smiled at his son.

Izuku smiled back and answered, "Okay, Dad."

Hisashi seemed delighted by his son's answer. It was then that it finally seemed like a good time to tell his son something he noted earlier.

"Izuku, please keep your lights on while using electronics so you won't damage your eyes."

Izuku was a little caught off guard, and he said in a monotone, "Ah... so you were going to say it."

Izuku chuckled a bit, At least he hasn't noticed any of the All Might merch.

"And don't think I haven't noticed the posters behind you. I can see All Might's big stupid smile from here." Hisashi said in a stern tone.

Izuku couldn't help but chuckle nervously, So he did notice.

Tenko bursted laughing, "Haha! Busted!"

"I'm sorry." Izuku could only say in chuckling embarrassment, "I'll cover them up next video call."

"No need. You didn't have to hide them, I already knew you'd put them up after moving there. Just make sure to keep the lights on for your eyes next time, understood?" Hisashi told his son.

"Yes, Dad." Izuku responded with a smile.

NOTES: Funny story, this chapter was supposed to go up last night at 4am, but after I closed my eyes for a bit, I accidentally fell asleep. When I woke up, it was already noon. 😅

Motivation then struck a few hours later at 9pm.
