NOTES: So... this chapter was supposed to be posted just a few hours after the last one but our Wi-Fi decided to mess with us so this is a little late. Also, I swear I don't know how to keep my mouth shut.

After returning to UA from the Nighteye Agency, Izuku headed straight to his room, refusing to talk to anybody. He sat there on his bed, hugging his knees while staring off with dead eyes.

Did I really steal my Quirks? Izuku kept asking himself this question.

But every time, he would simply tell himself, But Dad said they weren't stolen. If Dad said that, then it must be true.

This went on and on in his head. He wants to believe it as the truth--that it is the truth... because if it isn't, then could his father really be--

He just can't imagine that that could be the case.

A sudden knock at the door snapped Izuku out of his thoughts.

"Izuku, it's time for dinner." It was Shouto.

Dinner? Izuku looked out to his room's balcony to find that it was already evening. He was in his room the whole day.

"I-I'll be there." Izuku simply replied.

Then Tenya's voice was heard, "Izuku, you need to come out of your room. We're not leaving until you do."

Then Ochaco spoke, "Izuku, you've been in your room the whole day. We're worried."

His three friends were there. Izuku couldn't help but smile a bit.

(a/n: now, we just need Shinso-- please don't kill me ^^")

Izuku took a deep breath before getting off his bed and meeting his friends at the door.

Once he was face to face with the three of them, he wore a smile and with his head lowered, he apologized, "I'm sorry for making you worry. I'm okay now."

"We won't force you to tell us if you don't want to, but don't just shut us out, okay?" Ochaco told him, "Come on, let's go down and eat."

Izuku sheepishly nodded.

On their way down to the common room, Izuku still had a blank look on his eyes. In an attempt to hide it from his friends, he kept his head low that whole time.

As they were going down the final flight of stairs, Izuku's phone suddenly rang. He took out his phone to see who was calling him. The moment he read the caller ID, his eyes immediately lit up, and they started to water.

He accepted the call without a moment's hesitation and before the other person could speak, he yelled into the phone, "TENKO, YOU BASTARD!"

Those who heard Izuku were caught off guard, some even unintentionally sprayed out the liquid they were drinking. Even Tenya couldn't help but reprimand the greenet, "Izuku, language!"

Izuku instinctively covered his mouth with his hand and immediately ran outside the building, barely holding back his glee, while his brother reacted from the other side, "What did you call me a bastard for?!"

Outside, he was barely holding back his tears as he listen to his brother repeat his question, "What did I do to get called a bastard?!"

"You didn't say anything before you left and your phone was unreachable for days! It was cruel!" Izuku said while wiping a tear from his eye.

"Sorry, okay? It just slipped my mind. I thought you'd be fine with it since Dad's home-- wait, is that why Dad suddenly called and ordered me to call you? Have you been bugging him to force me to call you?" Tenko accused Izuku.

"What?! No!" Izuku chuckled as tears continued to form in his eyes, "That sounds like something you'd do, not me."

Tenko chuckled then apologized, "Sorry I forgot to call. I've been pretty busy."

"You could've left a text, at least!" Izuku yelled as his tears fell and he had to wipe them off, "I tried calling but your phone was off the whole time! Dad told me you'd call... but you took too long." Izuku sniffled.

"Hey, a-are you crying? Did something happen?" Tenko asked.

Izuku hummed no as he continued to wipe his tears off, "No. Nothing happened. I'm just... happy."

"That didn't sound like happy crying to me." Tenko retorted. Izuku could only laugh before he decided to change the topic.

"But weren't you already busy even before you left? You missed some of our video calls, and during the provisional license exam, Dad and Eri were there, but you weren't. Why was that?"

"Oh. We haven't told you yet, have we?"

"Check."

"Told me what?" Izuku asked. What was that 'check'?

"Dad has effectively 'passed on the torch' to me." Izuku heard his brother chuckle after that statement, followed by a slightly audible 'damn you', but Izuku brushed off that last part. Instead he decided to focus on his brother's answer to his question.

"'Passed on the torch'? Wait, you don't mean--"

"Yup. That's why I was too busy to call. Dad decided to retire and leave the family business to me. Check."

Izuku immediately felt bad after realizing why his brother was so busy and he apologized, "I'm sorry."

Tenko chuckled, "Don't be. It was our fault for not telling you."

Izuku smiled, then he finally asked, "Are you playing chess with somebody?"

"Yup. We had some free time while we were waiting so I'm playing with my good friend, Yatou. Say hello, Yatou~"

"Shut up." Izuku heard the other person say, but Tenko only laughed.

"Now, that, my stubborn little brother, is what you should call cruel." Tenko stated, but Izuku was unimpressed.

"I think the fact that you had free time to play chess, yet you still needed Dad to remind you to call me is what I should call cruel." Izuku stated in a monotone, bordering on angry tone.

"Pffft--" 'Yatou' couldn't help but to burst out laughing while Tenko remained silent.

"Serves you right, Tenko-niichan~" 'Yatou' teased the older brother before continuing to laugh. Izuku couldn't help but chuckle as well.

"You're alright, kid." 'Yatou' complimented the greenet. "Tell you what, I'll personally remind your brother to call you. When do you want him calling?"

In a cold voice, Izuku answered, "Whenever it's unfavorable for him." Which only made 'Yatou' laugh more.

"How cruel." Tenko pouted.

"Payback, Tenko-niichan~"

"Tch. Fine. Fine! I'll remember to call. You happy?" Tenko said, defeated. Izuku couldn't help but smile with pride.
