Ciela's grandmother's house 📍
5:45am

It was almost a month until everything went downhill in my life. My dad—Haziel, I don't refer to him as my dad anymore, and Lucinda got out of jail. Changed the locks and I never got any of mines nor Cam's stuff.

The people on Luce's side of the family don't associate with us anymore besides Anissa and her husband but that's it.

"Up so early?" My abuela comes in my room with a bed tray holding desayuno de avena.. which in english translates to oatmeal breakfast. That, along with a tall glass of morir soñando (milk and orange juice).

"Your house is so far away from the school plus there's gonna be traffic, and I don't wanna be late.." I laugh turning around to face her.

"Well," She places the table on top of my bed, "I thought Bashar was coming to get you two?" She asks, "You barely drive your car anymore I think you should give it to me.." She smirks looking around making me laugh.

"Abuela, you know you can drive my car!" I laugh, "I mean you did put it under your insurance," I say making her laugh.

After being kicked out, my dad took my car off his insurance. I mean, I was making my payments anyways but he really didn't want anything to do with us anymore.

"I'm kidding hija. But, I think it's nice that Bashar picks you guys up everyday to bring you to school and pick you up."

"He just loves to be around us," I say.

"Ohhhh I know, and don't think I didn't hear you get in late last night.." She trails off.

"Abuelaaaa," I groan.

This morning, me and Pop were just up late and decided to get food.. sit in the car and talk. Regular.

"Aht aht aht 'abuela' nada. I know you're getting older but don't make it a habit. I really love and respect Bashar but coming in an hour before you're supposed to wake up for school that's not gonna work for me."

"We didn't do anything. We just sat outside parked on the street eating food and talking."

"Sure, I was a teenager once."

"Different times, different people abuela!" I laugh making her crack up.

"Alright i'm going to the restaurant, I'll see you later right?" She asks.

"Uhm actually Pop and I have plans, we're going to the mall."

"Fine with me be back at a decent time please okay," She walks to the other side of the bed to hug and kiss me, "I'll be home after you guys so here's the key."

"Ouuuu where you going?" I chuckle making her laugh.

"Just staying late at the restaurant tonight—I got the inspector coming tomorrow morning."

"Oh do you want m—."

"Nope hija i'm bueno!" She laughs throwing one hand up, "I'll see you later! Love you!" She shouts as she walks out the room.

After finishing getting dressed, Pop came. I wore a orange sweatshirt, grey biker shorts and a pair of cream balenciaga's on my feet. My hair was out and curly and I wore no makeup.

"Papi you ready?!" I shout from downstairs.

"I'm here, i'm ready," He hops down the last step with his bookbag on one shoulder, "I'm ready," He laughs.

We walk out the house and there Pop was, outside in his benz blasting his music early as ever.

"Woo back baby!" He rolls his window down and shouts, "Wassup woo!"
