Not me scrolling through Pinterest only to find a list of arranged marriage AUs, only for my eye to catch one (1) word and immediately create an entire prompt around it.

Pirate plus arranged marriage equals a powerful pirate captain who commands a fleet of pirates that the kingdom can't take down/suppress so the Monarch/Monarchs of the kingdom make a deal with the pirate: their second child's hand in marriage in exchange for peace between the pirate and the kingdom. What happens next is up to the imagination.

Personally I'm very tempted to forgo studying for exams and writing updates/finishing my other prompts and just immediately writing this prompt like holy shit I have this desire to write it so bad because there's so many ways it could go I mean the pirate and the royal could fall in love or it could be revealed that the pirate is already married (through pirate laws, not kingdom) so the two become friends or it could be ploy or the kingdom could be evil so the pirate and royal team up to destroy the royal family or the royal could fall in love with the first mate or-

The need to write this out, the words bubbling up inside of me, ink rising up against my skin, I need to write something for this and soon, the story is creating itself and it needs to be committed to something before I lose it.

So I'm off to write something of it now!

If any of y'all write/draw something off of the prompt, I expect a tag/message so I can read/see it!

Also quick lore on pirates: look up pirate gay marriages, because it's fascinating how pirates had gay marriage during a pretty homophobic time. Pirates were very very gay pass it on

Captains have authority to marry people, however if the captain's getting married the first mate can marry people, if the captain and first mate are getting married to each other then the second mate can marry them. Pirates had a marriage authority hierarchy pass it on

Pirates could be female or male, and while some were mean about it other didn't care as long as the female pirate was good at what she did. Pirates were feminists pass it on

Pirates often acted out trials for fun, so a pirate pretended to be a judge, trying a pirate pretending to be a pirate on trial for being a pirate, while a pirate pretends to be a lawyer arguing why pirate pretending to be a pirate is a pirate, and a pirate pretending to be a lawyer arguing why the pirate pretending to be a pirate isn't, in fact, a pirate. Pirates were theatre kids pass it on

Pirates are awesome guys.

Stay safe kiddos and remember that pirates were extremely gay!

Love you all <3<3<3
