I told him a billion times to don't worry, that it wasn't his fault, while he apologized as many millions of times.
How did I not notice it myself?
Tomorrow morning the first thing we'll do is go to any pharmacy to buy a pill. I just hope I don't feel bad, as the party will be the next night...
"Sorry," he repeats to me for the billionth time.
"Quiet, really. I feel like I can handle it this time. It was still beautiful, indeed, more beautiful," I assure him.
Skin-to-skin sex is always better, always.
My phone screen lights up on the nightstand as Hero strokes my hair.
"Who is it at this hour?" he asks confused.
"Mhm... I don't know."
I reach out and Anna's name is on the screen.
She sent me a message: We have just arrived at the hotel, I can't wait for the party.
I answer: Good. Me neither.
"So who was it?" Hero insists.
I tell him it was Anna, she wanted to know if we were okay.
He chuckles. "That woman is absurd!"
"Yeah, but she's great."
I crouch against him, my legs intertwined with him. It feels good under this duvet, I feel protected like a baby... koala.
I don't know where the koala thing came from.
I laugh softly to myself and Hero notices it.
"What amuse you?"
"I feel like a baby koala under this duvet and in your arms," I explain with a chuckle.
He raises his eyebrows and then, pretending to be offended, says, "Are you comparing me to Mother Koala?"
"But who is Mother Koala?" I laugh.
"Well, me, the way you see it!"
"What a fool you are, sleep, it's late," and I put a hand on his mouth.
He takes it off and gives me a slow kiss. A few minutes later we are already sleeping.
                                        ***
The eight o'clock alarm I set yesterday rings. I hate the iPhone alarm, it's so... violent, but I've never bothered to change it. Hero hates it too, he always tells me to put another one but I never do it in the end.
"I swear" he begins with his voice hoarse from sleep, keeping his eyes still closed "that if tomorrow" he pauses "this fucking alarm goes off" another pause "I'll throw you out of bed," he sighs, I haven't stopped the alarm yet. "What the fuck, come on," he reaches over my head and turns it off. "It was time."
I chuckle and kiss his nose. It's funny when he gets upset about stupid things like the iPhone alarm. He use the softest and least traumatic ringtone there is.
"What the fuck are you laughing at?" he says irritably.
I clear my throat. "Language, thank you."
"Yeah, sure, one of these days I throw that phone off the balcony." He reaches out his arm again and takes my phone. He unlocks it in a second.
"I don't believe it... Aren't you really changing the ringtone?" I make fun of him laughing.
"That's right, that's exactly what I'm doing."
"You. Are crazy," I shake my head.
Once done, he hands me the phone and I put it back on the bedside table.
I get up and go to fill a glass of fresh water.
"One for me too, please?" he asks me going to the bathroom.
I fill one for him too, when he comes back from the bathroom he takes a sip and then says: "Shall we have breakfast out? Well... what do we do today?"
"I don't know, whatever you want."
He rubs his a little beard chin thoughtful. "Maybe you could meet my friends. In person," he points out.
I only know Felix virtually, via some FaceTime with Hero or messages, same thing Evan, Valand, Morgz...
"Yes, sure, I'd love to," and I put my arms around his neck.
He takes me from the hips and pulls my body close to him, I feel his erection from under his shorts on me.
"What do you want, huh? This is absolutely not the time, you know," and I kiss his whole neck.
"What are you doing to me, Jo?" he says softly and hoarsely.
"I don't know, you tell me..." I kiss his jaw and put my hands through his hair.
"You..." he moans, then continues, "you're fucking changing me."
"You think?" I push him and make him sit on the bed.
"Shit, yeah."
Actually, I believe it too. Based on what I know of his previous life, I can say that I represent an important turning point for him.
I walk away telling him I have to get dressed, but he takes me by the wrist. "You can't drive me crazy and then quit your job halfway," he looks from me to his shorts and back to me.
"What do you want then?" I ask him, as if I didn't know.
"I want you."
