-Three months later-

Y/n's pov

The past few months weren't actually as bad as you'd expect them to be. We went back to California, and I worked on school and shit like that. I got my cast off, and the holidays passed like they were nothing. Oh and I got my own apartment now, Miss independent over here.

"Bird, you missed a question on the back of your assignment," Christopher says.

Okay well maybe not totally independent. Christopher does live in his apartment down the hall from me, so he tends to be over here a lot of the time. He makes sure I don't die or anything.

"I thought that you'd just do the question for me," I groan taking the paper back.

"I'm not gonna do some work if you can do it," he says. "Just like this morning."

Oh yeah I tried to get him to do my workout earlier today because I wasn't feeling it. And that's another thing, I started going to the gym with Christopher, being a baddie or whatever.

"I know, I know," I say scribbling out my answer. "But I don't want to get bulky, full of muscle and shit, like you."

"What's wrong with being bulky?" He asks.

"On me," I say. "I don't want to be built like you, but you look just fine. Muscles are actually just fine on girls too it's just-. You messing with me or something?"

"I'm not, go on," he says.

"I'm not saying shit, you wanna listen to me ramble and sound like an idiot," I say. "You like listening to me babble all damm day?"

"If I didn't enjoy you talking all the time then I'd probably spend more time in my own apartment as opposed to being here all the time," he says. "Don't you think?"

Don't say things like this, it's confusing me idiot.

"Maybe it's just cause you have no friends," I laugh. "Loner."

"I have friends, and you shouldn't be talking," he says.

"Um I have friends, I just don't really talk to them," I say. "But I have one friend here, it's you who doesn't have any, besides me of course."

"Those guys at the gym that I talk to, their my friends," he says. "I hang out with them sometimes."

"When?" I ask.

"When you're at school or sleeping," he says.

Oh yeah, I forgot that he's not some crazy like me. He can actually make friends easily.

"So what do y'all do? Gossip?" I ask. "Talk about fashion trends?"

"Just guy stuff, sports, the gym," he shrugs. "Nothing worth mentioning."

"Can I meet them sometime?" I ask. "Promise I won't embarrass you."

"You don't need to meet them," he says. "You won't be too entertained."

"Please, Christopher," I say. "I just wanna meet them, once, one time."

"You wouldn't like them," he insists.

"Doesn't matter, I wanna meet them," I say. "Just once, plus you don't know that I won't like them."

"Fine you can meet them, only because I know you won't let up," he says. "Alright?"

"Yeah I understand, how many friends do you have?" I ask. "What are their names?"

"I have a few, I don't know which ones you'll meet yet," he says. "I'll introduce you then."

"When?" I ask. "When can I meet them?"

"I'll figure it out, don't worry about it," he says. "Soon though."

"I sure hope so," I say.

"Now back to your homework," he says.

And here I was hoping he'd forget.

Forgot that the legal drinking age in California is twenty-one. 😪
