The blood was helping. Bella was getting stronger little by little. Natalia wasn't allowed to be in the room when Bella was drinking. Alice told her it was because she hadn't hunted in a week but Natalia knew that deep down they still didn't trust her after the accident months ago.
Everyone in the house was getting weaker by the day. Sam had the house surrounded, so no one could get far enough to hunt. Jasper could feel how Bella felt. He said that she felt guilty that everyone was starving for trying to protect her.
Charlie was calling a lot. Natalia understood, his only child is sick and he can't be there to take care of her. Everytime Bella would answer the phone she wouldn't give him anything to help him eaze his worries. Natalia heard the conversation they were having today. Bella was telling him that she was going to go to Switzerland to get some help. Natalia disagreed with the way they were handling her father, but she also knew it was the only way.
Natalia stood next to the windows most days. She wanted to be a part of the madness but didn't want to take part in Bella dying with a devil child. She could see Sam and the pack circling around the house. Sam was breaking the treaty that for some reason Carlisle still saw in effect.
Edward was slowly opening up. He was trying to spend as much time as he could before Bella's possible death. He even discovered that he can hear the fetus' thoughts. Natalia knew that it was a moment that needed to be had between the new parents.
Natalia stood in the kitchen with Carlisle, Esme and Jacob. There was only one more bag of blood left. Bella was due any hour, any day now.
"Bella could deliver as early as tomorrow. If she's going to have any chance at all, she'll need more blood." Carlisle says the hard truth.
Natalia sighs. Esme grabs her hand hoping it will give her some sense of calmness.
"And you need to feed. You have to be at your strongest for her. We need to go tonight." Esme tells her husband.
"Carlisle, you're the enemy now. Sam won't hesitate. You will be slaughtered." Jacob tells them the hard truth.
"Emmett will come with us."
"Esme, he won't be enough. He's not as strong as he usually is. None of us are." Natalia says.
"I agree. He won't be enough." Natalia gives Jacob a tiny smile for agreeing with her.
"We don't have a choice Jaocb. If there's anything we can do to save her, we have to try." Carlisle tells the two.
"You'd risk your lives for her?" He asks them.
Natalia quickly nods her head. "Of course we would. Bella's a part of our family now."
"Yeah, I can see that. This really is a family." Jacob looks outside the window "As strong as the one I was born into. I know what I have to do."
