It's Saturday night. Tyler has asked Natalia earlier in the week if she wanted to get dinner with him and of course she accepted. Natalia was open to the idea of being something with Tyler, but there was also a tiny bit of doubt in her head. There weren't a lot of boys in Forks High School that she could choose from but she just didn't feel 100% about Tyler. When she told her mother, Stella Ramos, about her going on a date she was thrilled. So thrilled that she took Natalia to a few local boutiques to get a new outfit.
One of Stellas biggest concerns was that her two daughters were going to be alone. After the death of her husband she had felt what being alone had felt like, and she would do everything in her power for her daughters not to feel that.
Tyler had showed up at her front door right on time. He had brought Natalia some flowers to which her mom put in a vase. Natalia smiled and introduced him to her family. Stella thought he was a nice boy and Ella thought that he wasn't anything special.
Tyler took her to a local restaurant. Natalia remembered Mike saying something about how good the burgers were. The conversation was going steady. Not going into very deep conversation but there was no awkward silence.
Over in another booth Jasper sat looking at the couple. Alice got a vision of where the two teenagers were going on their date and that Jasper had decided to follow them. Of course Natalia didn't know that he was there. He sat in a corner booth with the menu covering his face. The bell rang which indicated that someone was entering or leaving the restaurant and Jasper looked up to make sure it wasn't Natalia. Instead of seeing if she was leaving or not, he was met with Alice.
"What are you doing here?" He growled.
"I could ask you the same thing dear brother." She smiled, grabbing the menu to look. "Just be glad it's me and not Emmett. Edward spilled the beans and Emmett was halfway out the door before Esme told him no."
Jasper didn't reply. He just went back to watching his mate go on a date with someone that wasn't him.
Natalia wasn't having fun and Jasper could feel that. It took everything in him not to go over there and save her. Natalia didn't have much to add to the conversation as Tyler wanted to talk about football and not the kind that Natalia knew how to play. Natalia just smiled and added "yeah" and "cool" when she could. The two had decided that it was time to leave after Tyler kindly paid for their meal. When Natalia went to head towards the door she tripped and started to fall but someone catched her. Jasper got a good look at her. Natalia was wearing a white top and a pink jean skirt. Jasper thought she looked beautiful.
"Oh Jasper. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." Natalia apologized.
Jasper realized that he was still holding onto her, he quickly let go and responded to her. "Oh It's fine. As long as you didnt get hurt."
"Yeah. Kinda clumsy." She laughed. "Oh hi Alice."
"Hi, Nat." Alice just waved, taking in the interaction between her brother and his mate.
"What are you doing here?" Jasper asked.
"She's here with me. We are on a date." Tyler finally joined in on the conversation. Jasper felt the jealousy coming off the boy. He also thought that Tyler should be jealous, because as soon as this fling was done Jasper was coming in.
Natalia just awkwardly smiled, not liking the energy that Tyler was putting out. Alice saw how this was gonna play out and gave Jasper a look to just move along.
"Nice. Hope tonight was fun for you guys but Esme made dessert so we have to head home." Alice said. She took Jaspers hand in hers and dragged him through the door.
"Lucky. I'll see you Monday." Natalia waved.
Tyler led her back to the car and opened the door for her. Natalia smiled at the action. Tyler started the car and drove back to her house.
Natalia just hummed to the music when Tyler decided to break the silence. "The Cullens are pretty weird, no?"
Natalia instantly had a frown on her face. "No, I don't think they are very weird."
Tyler just scoffed. "They only hang out with each other. You saw how the one chick grabbed the dude's hand, like they are together together. You are the first person I've seen them talk too that isn't in their family.
Natalia started to defend her new friends, "Their names are Alice and Jasper. And they aren't together. Quit being an ass."
Tyler looked at her with wide eyes. "That's exactly what I mean! I'm just saying, they are weird."
He pulled into the Ramos driveway and before she got out of the car, she told him one last thing. "They aren't weird and we are totally not going on a second date." She slammed the door.
Natalia just went into her house and told her mom all that had happened.
