The school had gone from slightly dark, to pitch black and the dimly lit torch began to flicker creating shadows that danced along the walls of the eery basement. The lack of breath from running was evident once they'd finally stopped. Skylar's eyes cast around the cramped room, lines of old rustic lockers stood in need of some serious polishing. The paint that had once been a fresh coat of pristine white, now peeling from the lack of attention. It was a space Skylar was glad was closed off to students.

Yet the feeling of security filled her mind, the four walls around them were tightly sealed and the fact that it was a place very few people knew about, settled a safe feeling in the pit of her stomach.

Just minutes before, adrenaline had been coursing through their veins. The thrashing sound of heavily built paws slammed against the corridor floor, the trio's ears throbbing with the sound of their own pulse. It was a nightmare they couldn't wake up from. The moment the beast had shattered its way through the window, its focus fixed on his targets as they raced to find somewhere to escape.

One swipe of its hand and they'd never see daylight again.

That's when Stiles' eyes fell upon the basement, a door none of them have ever ventured. But at that moment, it was their only option. The feeling of her brother's tight grip on her hand latched onto her, hauling her towards what he prayed would be safety. Skylar had lost count of the amount of steps they staggered down, twisting around a final corner and bursting into an unfamiliar room.

"Wait a minute, no..." Scott whispered his eyes wide as he watched the male twin pull a set of keys out of his pocket, causing a loud ruckus.

Before the werewolf could even finish his sentence, a hush passed Stiles' mouth and he launched the keys out of the basement. In a flash the alpha launched passed them exiting the basement at the sound of the keys hitting the floor.

The moment the alpha left the room, Stiles darted for the steel door closing it with an ear wrenching slam.

"The desk. Come on, the desk." He breathed out rather strained, the old fashioned steel desk proving to be a little heavier than he imagined.

They winced at the screeching sound of the desk being pushed up against the door length ways. The building shook as a roar erupted from the beast behind the door, he attempted to open it but failed miserably.

"He can't..." Scott breathed out, then grinned almost immediately at the sudden realisation that they'd finally outsmarted the alpha.

The two boys grinned at each other, satisfied with the plan they had put together. Skylar shook her head at them, it was inevitable that the alpha would break free and there was no doubt that he'd come after them again.
