The school week had gone by pretty quickly with it being Thursday night, meaning the weekend was only a day away. Skylar spent her time after school drawing, she flicked through her sketchbook that was filled with drawings of a variety of animals. She was currently working on a drawing she hadn't completed of her neighbours dog, a golden labrador she had walked a few times.

As night fell the blue haze of day lifted to reveal the stars. The night sky was such a welcome sight, appearing like magic at each sunset, promising to return as she faded in dawn's first light. There were times in the daytime, under skies of blue, Skylar would think of those faraway stars and how they'd return after the shadows blended into the dark.

Skylar rubbed her fingers along her silken mattress. She pressed her cheek to the cool, velvet pillows. The comforter was thick and irresistibly soft, like a billowing cloud. She toppled into it, immediately feeling enveloped with warmth. Skylar soon felt the heaviness in her eyes, and succumbed to the call of sleep.

The brunette had cycled to her favourite place in Beacon Hills, it was just slightly outside of the town, it was a small hill that overlooked the town; showcasing its beauty, the reflective greens of the natural landscape glowed brighter in the strengthening light.

The early morning runners pass by and stop each time as they watch the sunrise, just as entranced by its beauty as she is.

Skylar was never one for waking up early, she was more of a night owl. Her mother however, enjoyed the thought of waking up early and going on a bike ride to watch the sunrise. It was quite often her mother would take her twins to watch the sunrise, a picnic in hand before they'd start their early morning at school. Claudia would tell her children 'the sunset teaches that the end of one journey, and the sunrise is the starting of the next journey. It can show just how beautiful an ending of a journey can be'. In her own interpretation, when Skylar watches the sunset it feels like everything paused for a moment, and colours fly in the sky just to paint the world for a brand new day.

As she sat and watched the sunrise a bright smile spread across her face, memories of her mother danced in her mind. Her mother was a lot like the sunrise, beautiful, full of colour and positivity. This was her happy place. The place she'd come to feel close to her mother, a place where she'd feel a sense of warmth; and to enjoy the beauty of nature.

A loud beeping pierced through the brunette's ears, almost bursting her eardrums in the process. A sense of confusion washed over her as her eyes fluttered open. Her hand palmed the grass beneath her legs, the girl's grey eyes widened once she realised where she was. The supermarket car park, on a spot of grass by a parking meter.

Skylar stood up quickly only to be met with a wave of dizziness, she groaned as her vision blurred and the feeling of throwing up passed each second. She had no clue to what the hell was going on, first she had the best dream about being at the edge of the town, then she woke up in the middle of the supermarket car park.
