A couple days later..
" nova..nova !!" Ky shook me as I was halfway asleep . " yes kyrie ?" I groaned .
" why is everyone on social media saying stuff about keoni ? Talking about he can't play sports anymore and he's sick ?"
I sat up and sighed . " key has a heart disease or something else dealing with his heart. Meaning he can't play in sports anymore "
His face dropped " y-you know what heart diseases le-"
" yeah I know ! And he knows that to.." I scratched my neck . He sat down on my bed and hugged me and as I was about to say something my phone started ringing .
" hi mom " I sighed , I just wanted to take a nap so bad .
" come to the house right now , a-and bring kyrie with you " she said quickly .
" why..?"
" because I said so girl , I'll see you soon" she hung up . Me and ky looked at each other confused and then I threw on a shirt and some leggings .
I grabbed my keys and we both slipped on our shoes and headed out .

" woah..." we both said as I pulled up to the house . There were reporters everywhere and once they seen my car they started getting louder and closer .
I parked the car and gave ky some sun glasses. " I don't even wanna get out the car .." kyrie slumped down in his seat .
" same ." I sighed and then we both got out . Kyrie grabbed my hand and walked me up to the door .
" nova !!" One out of the fifty eleven reporters yelled and I turned around , rookie move I know .
" sorry I can't answer any of y'all's questions right now !" I nicely smiled .
Then they all got loud again " can you just give us a little information on what's going on !?"
" I really can't , sorry !" I shrugged .
" is it true your brother keoni might die from hi-" some man was asking but kyrie cut him off .
" aye ! Didn't she just tell y'all she not answering anything ! She's not telling y'all about nothing or how she feels so lemme hear one more question and I swear to god I wil-"
I pinched his elbow making him stop speaking and I dragged him in the house .
" finally you guys are here " dad said . Everyone was in the living room like someone just died .
" what's going on..?" I sat my purse down . " I told them.. about all of it " key said .
" wait a damn minute, you knew nova and didn't tell us !?" Mom yelled .
" I didn't tell you guys because I told him to tell y'all and plus he was was scared.."
They both sighed " we are going to the doctors tomorrow and if they can't find out what's going on then we going to the best doctor there is , I don't care where we have to go !"
" but you guys both have games tomorrow..?" Namani spoke up .
" we're not going , basketball is on hold right now " dad said .
Keoni looked at them with a hurt look " no ! This is the reason why I didn't wanna tell you guys "
" I don't wanna be the reason why you guys put your dream on hold !" .
" you and your sisters are more important than basketball keoni ! We would give up anything to make sure y'all are good " dad said .
" and for your depression..we will take it day by day , helping you and being by your side " moms voice cracked making key shed a couple tears .

" I'm sorry " he cried and that just broke my heart completely . " hey ! Do no not be sorry for something that is out of your control . I've been there before and look at me now " I told him
" it may take time but in order to have sunshine and flowers, it has to rain" .
Mom and dad nodded , agreeing with me . Then all of a sudden mom snapped her head at key making us confused .
" key I need you to be one hundred percent honest with me " She said and he slowly nodded his head . " have you been having chest pain's recently?"
" yeah.."
" hard time breathing?" She asked and he nodded. " also.. does it feel like sometimes your heart isn't beating right when your playing basketball or football ?"
" h-how'd you know ?" He looked at her confused and so did the rest of us .

Dad looked at her shocked " you had that condition and never bothered to tell me ?! After ALLL the years we been together and friends "
" if it makes you feel better , she didn't tell me either " riah shrugged .
" because my family didn't want it to be on the media after reef! The only people who know were my family and.."
" and who ?" Dad tilted his head " Terry -but that doesn't matter now because we're talking about keoni !"
" you have an anomalous coronary artery, just like me and your uncle did . So , we are leaving tonight to Houston and hopefully get you a surgery soon " .
" also , no talking to reporters or answering stuff online . We're not saying anything until we can get you a surgery date and your in recovery "
" how long is recovery mom..?" .
" almost a year" she sighed . " a year ?! Mom I'm a senior with scholarships from everywhere ! I can't sit and do nothing "
" would you rather go to 20 different doctors and have them open up your chest a hundred times just for them to tell you they can't help you or find out what's wrong ? Cause that's what happened to me and I'll be damned if I let it happen to you !" .
" dad , can you please tell her I can't sit a year out on sports -what about college ? Graduation!?" Keonis voice cracked .
" we'll find a way to do all of that but the surgery is what you need , we can't risk you dying keoni " dad told him .
He smacked his lips " I guess I'll start packing .." he walked downstairs to the basement.
" soo..we're all leaving tonight ?" Mehkai asked . " yeah , kyrie if you wanna come I'll talk to your mom and let her know ." Mom told my and he nodded .
" I'm gonna go check on key " ky told us and went downstairs. " so , my own friend knew about it before me ?" Dad turned to mom .
" I'm not doing this with you right not lamelo !" Mom shouted as they both went upstairs .
" y'all wanna go get some food ?" Riah spoke up making mani laugh .
" it's always you dykes " I eyed them . " girl shut up and come on !" Riah shouted and we all left to her car . I texted everyone and asked what they wanted as we drove off .
