CHAPTER FORTY FIVE

We're both sneaking in the imperial palace. If we get caught, we're dead.

"We're almost there, my lady, do your best!" Stella said

I am doing my best, just where is that energy came from, Stella?

"We better hurry, the guards are all over the palace. We can't afford to get caught after running from the manor all the way here, right?" I said

"Yes!"

We continue sneaking, we ended up hiding in the bush. Why did I plan to do this again? Damn it

"You must rest, your highness,"

I heard a familiar voice behind me, it's my brother's.

"My lady, I think I heard his voice." Stella said

"But, Elliote, I'm perfectly fine, no need to worry." It's princess Shae's voice

"Your highness, you need to rest or else the---"

"You there!"

Stella and I startled when a guard suddenly yelled at us. Damn it, we got caught!

"Run!" We both yelled. We're so focused on their conversation that we never noticed those guards

We went on the other path, the forest. We run 'till we reached the cliff, it's a dead end

"My lady, what should we do?" Stella asked

I thought for a second. We can't jump off the cliff and we'll also be dead if those guards caught us.

"Stella, have you ever climb a tree before?" This is the only way, I'll swear I'll never follow my brother again.

"Yes, my lady."

"We'll climb that tree." I point the tree near us. It's big enough for us to hide there

We did climb the tree as I planned. And soon the guards arrive, five of them are chasing us.

"They're not here."

"What if they jumped?"

"Don't be ridiculous, no one can survive in this height."

"If only we know those two, they're wearing a cloak and their faces are covered."

"Let's just report this incident to his Majesty, c'mon, let's go back."

They finally leave, I sigh in relief. That was so close

"You saved us both, lady Eloise!" Stella said and almost cried

"Yeah, I'm sorry for getting you involve."

"No, it's okay, lady Eloise, it's was fun though!"

I just smiled at her. Thank goodness

Suddenly I heard a crack near me, then I slipped.

I think I'm having a deja vu, right now...

Stella's face while looking at me with a worry expression. She was yelling something but I don't hear anything
