CHAPTER NINETY SEVEN

I almost lost my balance when I had a deja vu.

This is the same feeling I felt back when I first encounter Thalia

That black shadow represent black magic and Thalia is the only black magic user. But it can't be, she's already deceased

I grabbed a wooden stick and attack my opponent with it

"This is infinite. They recover after being critically damage." Theodore spoke

"I agree. They can also regenerate," Gabriel replied as he strike his opponent with his claw

I almost lost hope, this would take few hours to defeat them all, and dawn is almost near

If we commence fighting them, our journey to that certain wizard would be delay

We heard a shout and saw a child running towards us

"Help me!"

I was about to approach her but Theodore hold me back

"No, don't come near her, it's a trap."

"My mommy is in trouble! Please help me!" She holler

I feel awful, but then I notice.....a shadow behind her, staring at me

I can see it smirking

I didn't hesitate to grab my weapon and then I aim for the shadow, I released the arrow and hit it

It's expression change and disappeared

"You missed.."

"I wasn't aiming towards a child. There's a shadow behind her, and was probably manipulating that youngster." I stated

"Master!"

I turn around and saw Gabriel

"I killed one of my opponent, and apparently, they stink."

"Heh?" Theodore and I questioned in unison

"As soon I stopped it from regenerating, I notice that it's body suddenly decayed and it smelled like a dead rat." He explain

"So you're saying, that these people are already dead? Even that child?" I pointed to the child and its decayed body is already lying on the ground with worms all over it

"The shadow must've control them and made an illusion to look like they're alive..." Theodore concluded

"That's it. If we get rid of the shadow, we'll be able to defeat these people once and for all." I stated, "However, I don't think there's only one shadow controlling everyone here. I defeated one shadow earlier and yet, only the child got decayed and everybody else are still moving."

"Are you saying that everyone has an individual shadow that manipulates them?" Gabriel asked and I nod

"In that case, let's get rid of those vexatious imbecile!" He shouted with lots of motivation in his tone

I prepared my arrow to aim at those shadows

Hope we'll finish before dawn..
