"Did you just say Raiden? He's here?" I asked
It's been so long since I last saw him, I do not carry any grudge against him. I just wanted to see him
I stood up and decided to find Raiden, however, Gabriel held my hand
"Where are you going, master?" he asks
"I wished to see Raiden."
"You must not, master, our surroundings aren't safe."
"That's not a priority for me right now. I have to see him, Gabriel!" I yelled
"Why do you yearn to see the person who started the uproar four years ago, master?"
"He was used, okay!? He was being manipulated! It wasn't his fault!"
Gabriel didn't answer
"Please, let me see him, tell me where he is."
"But master, I can't---"
"It is a command, Gabriel, I do not wish to hear any responses other than yes. Let me see him."
Gabriel hesitate for a moment, he let out a deep sigh before fixing his gaze on me, "Yes, master."
Gabriel signed me to follow him, we started walking around. It didn't take too long before I heard him calling me once more
"Lady Eloise!"
"Raiden...." I uttered
"I can see him," Gabriel stated, "There he is."
Out of joy, I hugged Gabriel, "Thank you,"
Gabriel simply flashes a grin.
"Raiden!" I called
He then turns around and I notice how he looks so relieved to see me
"Lady Eloise!"
The next thing I knew, he wrapped his arms around me
"It's been so long, I thought I'll never see you again," I uttered
"I'm sorry for what I did, lady Eloise, I was such a fool. I deeply apologize," I heard him cry as he said those words
"Don't feel bad, Raiden, I'm glad you're safe."
I wiped his tears. I'm so pleased I finally get to see him
"I have something to tell you, lady Eloise. The ducal state is in a complete mess right now."
"What happened?"
"It seems like Gomez Ophelia went missing a few weeks ago."
Crap.
"How can we trust your words?" Gabriel remarked
"One of my acquaintances is currently there and told me that Lady Eloise's father was missing. If you don't believe me, you can go there and see for yourself." Raiden responded
"How can we know that this isn't another scheme for you to betray us again?"
"I am telling the truth."
"You already betrayed the whole empire by letting someone who uses black magic control you, you aren't reliable anymore, do you realize that?"
"Gabriel, stop! Why are you like this? He already apologizes and I already told you it wasn't his fault that he was manipulated by Thalia." I interrupt
He bowed his head, "I'm sorry, master." he stated without even looking at me
"Don't apologize to me, give your apology to Raiden instead."
He didn't say anything, he simply looks away
"I see," I added
"I can sense that his highness and the others are in trouble. Please, find a stable and secure location at the moment, I can assure you that I'll bring them safely to you, m'lady." Raiden stated
He kissed the back of my hand before disappearing
