Y/n was just laying down in her bed as she was bored out of her mind, she hated how she felt so lonely. How she couldn't do anything since she wasn't the most social and spent most of her days just walking around town, going to classes but not being anywhere near Lakewood High when it was break or lunch.

How she became friends with Nadine was honestly a mystery, they saw one another and sort of felt like they had a connection and began talking and it got progressively more and more.

They were in History and Nadine seemed a little upset, Mr Bruner put a movie on and Y/n glanced at her before she cleared her throat,

"So, you seem to be... u-up—upset, what's—" Y/n sighed, and cleared her throat once again, "what's up?" she asked, Nadine had her arms folded and her chin rested on her left arm, she turned to Y/n.

"Me?" Nadine asked, Y/n nodded her head.

"Yeah, you seem upset." Y/n acknowledged, "You don't— You don't have too, but if you wanna talk... I'm—I'm here." Y/n expressed which made Nadine sit up slightly,

"Really?"

"Yeah." Y/n agreed, "Of course." She hummed out,

"It's my best friend... she's—" She sighed and ran her hands through her hair and glanced at Y/n waiting for her to interject about her problems.

"You going to continue?" Y/n asked,

"Well— Well that was your time to butt in and be like 'Well my life is worse because', you know? Like it's sort've what everyone does." She explained to Y/n, Y/n shook her head.

"Yeah, no, I don't like doing that. So, what about your best friend?" Y/n asked, as she turned her full body toward Nadine; assuring her that she had her full attention, she lightly smiled and started to explain how she felt recently and felt heard. Listened too. She didn't know why it brought a small smile to her face, but it did. "That's a little unfair, I mean... she's your best friend, how come she isn't putting it into perspective?" Y/n questioned which Nadine shrugged her shoulders at,

"I don't— I don't know." She chuckled out, "I just wish... I had something for me, not something that my brother could have or anything." Nadine expressed, "You know? Like have you ever felt like you had to share anything and you just want one thing to yourself?"

"I do, I get that a lot. Like I don't— I don't really hang out... with anyone. There's not many people I'd wanna hang out with let alone talk too. So, uh, yeah. I get what you mean. There's a lot of people that are stuck up, so it sucks when you want something for yourself but can't have it." Y/n expressed, Nadine nodded her head.

"Got a little of topic there, huh?" Nadine asked which made Y/n let out a stifled laugh,

"Yeah, just a bit. My bad. Um, so—so what're you—? What're you gonna do?" Y/n asked, Nadine sighed,

"I don't know, I'll just— I'll just have to suck it up." Nadine explained,

"I'll be here if you need me, Nadine."

"Thought you didn't talk to much people." Nadine remarked, Y/n chuckled and nodded her head.

"I'll happily talk to you though, you're fun. You're nice. And... I think you need someone to lean on, and just know that I'm always here if you need that person." Y/n expressed as she gave Nadine a light however heartfelt smile.
