Loki's Lover

Chapter 19.

Y/n POV:

Wow. The sky was as significant blue with clouds smeared across the sky like paint. There was a beautiful open field full of grass and wild flowers with a few stray cows grazing in the distance. We were in the middle of nowhere yet it was peaceful and heavenly.
I turned around to see Loki, picnic basket and blanket in hand with a beaming smile.
"I'm at a loss for words" I stuttered in awe of my surroundings,
"Don't speak then, Follow me" he grinned whilst taking my hand and pulling me into the meadow. Loki laid out the large blanket and basket whilst I marvelled at beauty of the wild flowers and the sea of green grass that coated the floor.
After I finished appreciating this beautiful place I turned to see Loki staring at me with a bright smile.
I ran at him and when close enough I jumped and he caught me. Loki's hand wrapped under my thighs to support me and my hands flew around him and I buried my head into his neck.
"That's what this is...beautiful" I whispered into his neck,
"Not as beautiful as you" he said whilst kissing the top of my head,
"Thank you." I said whilst taking my head out of his neck and signally for him to put me down.
"You are welcome" he said whilst walking us over to the picnic blanket. Before I could even protest Loki laid me down on the blanket and sat down beside me.
"Such a gentleman" I praised,
"You have my mother to thank for that" he chuckled,
"What is she like? Your mother I mean," I asked curiosity getting the best of me,
"Well, my mother was always their for me. And like I said before she was the one who taught me everything I know about magic" he smiled,
"She sounds amazing" I said softly,
"She is" Loki agreed with a happy look on his face,
"I hope one day I can take you to Asgard to meet her" Loki smiled at me,
"I would love nothing more than to meet the glorious woman who raised such a fine prince" I said whilst pinching his cheek,
"Oh how she would adore you" loki said,
"I don't know about that" I laughed,
"She would admire your courage and your spirit. And she would love your charisma and your determined attitude" Loki chuckled whilst shaking his head,
"What about your father?" I asked softly in preparation for the sensitive topic,
"He's not my father."  Loki snapped,
"Oh, I'm sorry" I said sadly, Loki looked like he wanted to hit himself over the back of the head,
"I'm sorry darling it's just that ever since childhood he has favoured Thor over me, and I can see why" Loki said sadly,
"Hey don't say that" I said whilst giving him a hug,
"And ever since he sent me here to Midgard my hate for him has only grown." Loki said whilst looking angrily into the distance.
"I know you probably don't want to be here but I really enjoy your company Loki" I smiled sincerely,
"Thank you darling, that's means a lot to me" he said whilst meeting my eyes that were slightly glossy. I smiled at both of our teary eyes and leaned over to kiss his cheek.
"Let's go explore" I giggled whilst standing up and pulling him to his feet,
"I shall follow you to the ends of the earth" Loki said softly whilst taking my small hand in his large one. I laughed whilst running off into the meadow with Loki hot on my trail.
I caught sight of tall lavender flowers and sprinted over to them,
"Slow done Angel" Loki said whilst still holding my hand,
"Look loki lavenders!" I said whilst squatting down to exam their beautiful purple colour,
"That all starts with L" Loki laughed, I giggled before standing back up and smiling. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a big green bush with some sort of berries growing off it. I ran over to it and Loki laughed but followed after me,
"Look Loki berries" I said mesmerised by the large blue berries hanging off the branches of the bush,
"What a glorious green" Loki marvelled at the green coloured bush that had every tone of green known to man.
"This is so amazing I said whilst dropping Loki's hand and spinning around in the meadow. I kept dancing and laughing until I heard a camera click and spins round to see Loki lowering it after taking my picture,
"You sly god" I teased whilst placing a hand in my hip,
"You looked to stunning not to be photographed" Loki chuckled innocently,
"To can play it that game" I smirked mischievously,
"Come here" Loki said with a grin whilst opening his arms,
"Gotta catch me first!" I yelled whilst turning and running away from Loki at full speed. I heard Loki's laugh before thumping fort steps were heard following me,
"Your too slow old man" I laughed whilst turning my head backwards to shout at him,
"I'm not old!" Loki said with a look of shock on his face,
"Yeah!! Aren't you like a thousand?!" I cackled whilst dodging a fern bush and sprinting down a new path,
"I'm young in Asgard!" Loki shouted,
"But old on earth!" I yelled back,
"Your in for it little one" Loki growled and before I knew it I was scooped up and thrown over Loki's shoulder.
"Put me down old man" I yelled with a laugh,
"Only when you admit I'm not old" he said whilst walking us somewhere,
"Fine!!! Your not old!" I said breaking into a fit of giggles,
"Was that so hard" Loki teased whilst standing me back up right on our picnic blanket.
"Yes it was" I chuckled making Loki laugh. I plonked down onto our picnic set up as Loki kneeled and began pulling the contents of the picnic basket out.
I watched as he pulled our small cut up sandwiches, drinks, snacks and fruit and laid them out on the blanket in an orderly fashion.
"You thought this through" I smirked at him th my eyelashes,
"You deserve a special day out my love" he cooed at me as I felt my cheeks warm ever so slightly.
"Thanks" I said as Loki handed me a sandwich, Loki smiled at me before tucking into his own lunch.
"This day has been beautiful, did you plan this alone?" I asked,
"I had a little help from ,Thor and Captain Rodgers" Loki said sheepishly,
"Well it's marvellous" I giggled making Loki smile.

After eating our lunch and snacks I decided to keep exploring. I got to my feet and scouted the area, spotting cows grazing in the distance.
"Loki!!" I shouted whilst pointing,
"What is it darling?" Loki said jumping to his feet on high alert,
"Cows!!" I shouted before sprinting in their dircetion,
"Y/n! Wait they might not be friendly!" Loki yelled running after me once more. As I approached the cows I stopped running and began walking slowly.
"Hey little guy" I said softly whilst sticking my hand out to the cow, letting it know I'm not a threat. The cow stopped grazing and sniffed my hand, I smiled and ran my hand along its back.
"Amazing.."Loki breathed as he watched me pat the peaceful cow. I beckoned Loki over, he looked hesitant but held his hand out for the cow to sniff. The cow didn't bother with his hand and trotted over to him and stood at his feet,
"What does it want?" Loki said looking down at the cow slowly,
"I think it wants a pat" I giggled, I walked over to Loki and picked up his hand before guiding it along the cows back.
"Isn't it just the cutest" I marvelled,
"It sure is" Loki said looking at me. I blushed before standing back and watching Loki interact with the cow.
I smirked and took a photo of the two of them in the meadow and quickly tucked my phone away before he could see.
I turned around to look at the other cows but one of them was now laying down. I frowned and slowly approached the cow but it mooed loudly, a warning to back off.
I could see that the animal was in pain and it left an ache in my chest, no animal should have to suffer.
"My love, best not to pat that one" Loki said sternly whilst beckoning me back over to him,
"It's hurt" I said whilst looking at Loki with a pained expression. Loki read my expression and then he realised what I was saying,
"Y/n, no." Loki said firmly,
"Loki.." I said with pleading eyes,
"Y/n no." Loki said whilst taking a step towards me. Before Loki could stop em I took another step towards the injured cow, close enough that Loki had to pause as the cow mooed angrily.
I choose to ignore Loki's protest and quickly kneeled in the soft grass beside the cow.
The cow looked agitated and started mooing lousier.
"Shhhh calm down" I said gently, letting my healing aura come forward.
"I'm gonna help you okay sweetheart" I cooed as the cow submitted and laid down as the pain became excruciating. I noticed the cow had a damaged hoove and a breathing problem. I took a deep breath and watched as the cow put full trust in me as I placed my palms on the cows stomach. The cow moles once more in agony,
"I know, I know" I said whilst sending my healing powers into the cows body. The cow made an audible sigh as the pain was removed from it's body and I felt my healing powers drain. Once completed the cow stood up and I too stood to face it. The cow instantly trotted over to me and began rubbing its head against my legs in appreciation.
"It's okay stubborn little cow" I laughed tiredly,
"Darling?" Loki said walking closer now with a cute smile adorning his face,
"Hey lokes" I said feeling exhausted,–
"Are you okay?" Loki said sliding a hand around my waist, not for affection but to keep me standing,
"I'm sorry I just needed to help the cow" I managed to get out. Humans are usually easy to heal depending on the seriousness of the injury. For example bringing someone back from the brink of death is power draining but a bullet wound or stab wound or just a flick of the wrist. Animals in the other hand have whole different immune systems, making things a whole lot more difficult and drains my power much quicker.
"That is perfectly fine Angel, I understand" Loki said whilst walking us away from the cows.
"Goodbye cows" I said hazily with a slight wave, I heard multiple moo's in reply before Loki swept me off the ground and into a bridal style hold. I huffed out some sort of protest,
"Please my love I know how much power it takes to heal an animal. Just let me look after you, please?" Loki pleaded,
"Okay" I sighed, relaxing in his strong hold whilst Loki smirked. Loki then somehow held me with one hand and packed up the picnic with another without a single complaint.
"Your so strong" I mumbled hazily,
"Your so cute" Loki said with a laugh,
"No you are" I said whilst closing my eyes momentarily,
"No my love, stay awake for now" loki said readjusting my in his arms,
"I'm just resting my eyelids" I mumbled making Loki laugh.
"Your laugh is melodious" I whispered whilst reaching my hand up to put on his lips,
"Is that so?" Loki said whilst letting my fingers roam his lips and walking us back to the car,
"Lokes, thank you" I whispered whilst he threw the blanket and basket into the back seat.
"Whatever for Angel?" Loki said whilst sitting me in the front seat and bending down to put my seat belt on for me,
"This, today, you" I said all at once,
"There's a lot to unpack in that sentence but I shall wait darling" Loki chuckled, I nodded before the car door shut and Loki jumped into the drivers side and began driving back home.
"You can rest now Babygirl" Loki said softly as he looked over and saw me fighting to keep my eyes open.
"Okay goodnight" I said sleepily, Loki laughed before I fell into a dreamy and peaceful sleep where Loki was holding my hand as he drove me safely back to the tower...
