THE MISSION OF TITUS

Titus, a gentile by birth was converted to the Christian faith and nation by Apostle Paul. This man was with Apostle Paul on missionary errands. A man by the name TITUS which means HONOUR. Because of this, we must come to one compus mentus that, the Christian life is both accepting and rejecting, that is, we have to reject what Christ dislikes and accept what Christ likes. And that is the mission Apostle Paul gave to Titus in Crete. Paul saw some of the people in Crete accepting what God dislikes, that is, they were living a lifestyle that was not pleasing to God. So a mission of rebuke and correction was given to Titus to deal with such a situation. You see, Paul left Titus in Crete to put things in order to finish what was unfinished. See (Titus 1:5).
So Titus continue to teach the gospel to the people in Crete and appointed elders in performing the work of God. Brothers, it is so great and loving how these elders were appointed. To be an elder is something that needs to be checked. Let's check the qualifications one needs to get admission to be an elder in Titus 1:6-9. Comparing this verse to our generation on choosing elders is something appalling. It is sad how we twist God's way into our way. Is like, the work of God has now turned into a government work. We choose elders based on degrees, base on riches, base on wealth, base on fame. Many churches in this generation are ruling the church with elders who are not qualified to be an elder. With this, what do you expect from the church members? (Titus 1:6-9) came into existence because of how they choose elders. Titus learned from Apostle Paul, and believed the word of God through Apostle Paul, he humbled himself to obey the word of God to the extent of preaching and teaching the gospel. Titus was on a mission to portray Christ as our pattern. Now, the mission is no more about Crete but me and you to give ourselves to Christ and Obey him. So that God can give us the gift of righteousness which can work in us automatically for good works and not by our good works.

Brethren, Titus was a human being just like me and you, he was a gentile just like me and you, but you see how he devoted himself to Christ through the messages he heard from Paul

Brethren, Titus was a human being just like me and you, he was a gentile just like me and you, but you see how he devoted himself to Christ through the messages he heard from Paul. The mission God gave to Titus through Apostle Paul was to teach us to be pure (Holy, Clean) and self-controlled in order not to malign the word of God. Titus is no more a gentile but a Christian. The Savior who saved Titus through his words from Apostle Paul is alive and is never too late to turn to him but is too early to reject him. The mission is to let us know the true message about Jesus Christ and that's the message Titus heard and got him saved. As a true believer, know that, this is also your mission. Know how to choose elders too. Give or speak sound doctrine to others.

Spread his RESSURECTION.
