Chapter 106

Sage's POV:
Hallie clicked her tongue "I knew this would happen."
I tried pulling myself out of bed only to become dizzy and sit back down. Hallie pressed a hand to my forehead.
"Yep, you're sick. This is what you get for not eating enough or getting proper rest for a month." She lectured
"Please Hallie I'm fine. Just help me stand up and I can handle it from there." I said reaching out
"I most certainly will not help you. You need proper rest, and actual food. Stop trying to kill yourself."

"Hallie, I'm fine." I spoke standing up
"You aren't leaving this room, you have a fever."
We stood there and argued about if I was fine or not for about 40 minutes before my vision got blurry and I gave in.
"You are so stubborn sometimes." Hallie complained tucking me back into bed
"Shove off." I coughed
"Don't make me get Fred on your ass, I think she's still upset with you."
"He is. He keeps calling me sugar shack and the last time he called me that we were fighting over me taking my meds in fifth year."

"Sounds like you." Hallie chuckled "Stubborn dumbass."
"No need to be rude." I commented
"I will strangle you with this blanket if you don't shut up." Hallie threatened
"Do it, put me out of my misery." I mumbled
She smacked my head "Stop it."
"Ow, alright fine. I'm sorry."

"Morning guys, ooh Sage you look horrid." Clementine commented walking into our dorm
"Thanks, I try." I croaked
Hallie rolled her eyes at me.
"Ignore her, she's sick. What's up?" She asked
"Nothing I just wanted to see y'all."
"Join the hell hole." I mumbled
"Shut your trap." Hallie snapped
"How's Fred?" Clementine asked cautiously
Hallie laughed, while I glared at her.
"He's pissed with her, as he should be." Hallie commented

"I don't need relationship advice thank you." I said sitting up slightly
"Said the bitch who cut us all off without even trying to reach out for help." Hallie grumbled
Clementine looked between us awkwardly, I was sick and Hallie was mad but taking care of me anyway. We were also bickering like an old married couple
"I have a right mind to tell Fred so he can come and argue with you."
"I really will strangle myself with a blanket."

"This close Sage, I am this close to screaming at you now shut up before I decide to leave you here to fend for yourself."
I huffed, rolling over glaring daggers into the wall.
"I'll bring you some books from the library later." Clementine smiled
"Thank you, it's nice to know some people still love me." I said dramatically
"Who is taking care of your stupid ass right now." Hallie commented walking in with a cup of tea

The day passed mostly silent, except for Hallie and I's occasional bickering. People had come to check on me, some had coke to give me a piece of their mind on what I had done. Specifically Lee who started tearing up making me feel even worse. They knew I would think on their words more if I was incapacitated and unable to distract myself. Even Fred wrote me a long letter about his feelings. He never talks about his feelings.

"You don't understand that when you do that kind of shit it doesn't just affect you." Hallie ranted "What would I do if something had happened to you? Huh?" She asked tearing up "You can be so insensitive sometimes."
"I know." I responded
"I can't do this without you! You're the only person I truly trust, you've been in my life forever!"

"I know."

"God Sage why would you do something like that? Why couldn't you have talked to me? I get it you feel like your parents come in and destroy what you've made in your life but not me. I've always been here."

"I know."

"And what about Fred? What about everything you two have been through? He's been harassed, threatened, shit she's even been attacked! You were just going to drop him? You broke his heart Sage! I had to watch him sob outside your door for a whole day! Do you know how hard that was to watch? A grown man crying over you!"

"I know."

"I can't do this right now." Hallie spoke willing her face "Ill be back after dinner with food for you." He said grabbing her coat and walking out
"Ok." I replied
She shut the door behind her and I was left alone in my room.
"I'm sorry." I spoke into the emptiness

Hallie came back a few hours later with food and some news.
"Harry's going on some type of mission with Dumbledore tomorrow. Apparently he won't be back until late."
"Why?" I asked
"I don't know." She replied
"Lee said that Fred it furious with you."
"Wow Hallie, what a way to follow that information up." I mumbled "I already apologized to him. A lot."
"It may take more than just a written apology."
"Yeah, you're right."

"What's his love language?" Hallie asked
"What's yours?" I asked
"That's got nothing to do with what I asked." Hallie replied
"Yeah but you're both furious with me. I'm not just going to fix my relationship with my boyfriend and not my best friend."
"I'll get back to you." Hallie spoke standing up from the side of my bed
"I'm going on a date with Karl, take your medicine in two hours and don't forget to take a shower and get out of your cootie clothes." She smiled
"Ok."

A few minutes later Hallie came knocking at the door again.
"Come in. What did you forget? Wait, you aren't Hallie." I spoke
Finn chuckled "No, I'm afraid I'm not. Sorry if I'm a disappointment." She smiled
I squinted at him "You're only a disappointment if you've come to lecture me. I've had quite enough of it for one day."
He laughed sitting on the edge of my bed "No I haven't come to lecture you. Hallie mentioned you were sick and that she was going out tonight. I thought you might want some company."
"Well then no you're the exact opposite of a disappointment." I said setting my book down
Finn kept me company till Hallie came back for the night.
