The Prince of Denial

Chapter 26 (Year 2)

When you see a smiling Raven Inanis, the first thought that comes to some people's mind is, what kind of smile is it? A nice smile, very rare, a sadistic smile, or his I'm going to fucking kill you, smile. No one has ever really seen the last one, besides perhaps Gilderoy Lockhart, but he was too out of it to notice anything.

'Should've stomped on his head a little. Would be poetic.' Raven thought with a quiet cackle since he was in the library.

He was currently nice smiling as he was sitting in the library with Rose and helping her study. After all, if you had a friend who tested out of almost all his classes on the same day, you would want their help to study right?

"What about this?" Rose said as she showed her essay to Raven, more particularly the part about the salamander blood used in the fire protection potion.

"Good, but I'd add onto it saying that salamander blood is also used in some healing potions as well and which ones it is used about that as well," Raven said as he looked at her essay.

Rose grabbed her potions book and went through it for any potions using salamander's blood. Raven mostly gave her half-answers and expected her to figure out the rest on her own. After all, you can only learn if you look for information. Plus knowing Snape, he would put it to the test at the end of the year.

Raven meanwhile was reading a book on blood magic he found in the restricted section. Testing out of Hogwarts nearly all at once permits you to read books from the restricted section of the library. However, he was still limited in that the librarian had only let him check one out at a time and he wasn't allowed to leave the library with it. How rude right?

"What about now?" Raven heard and glanced at her paper and nodded and she smiled as she tucked away the last of her homework for the next two weeks. You were allowed to ask for future homework if you wanted and if the teachers thought it was okay.

The now back-to-human cat girl was one such person not allowed to do that. She would probably tire herself out doing it all at once. She already stressed herself out with the normal homework, how would she be with extra homework?

For her own and everyone else's stress levels, Hermione Granger was not allowed extra homework. Speaking of Granger, here she is.

"Rose, Raven!" Hermione said in a sort of loud whisper and Raven shushed her. One does not be loud in Madam Pince's library and lives to not have detention.

He was correct, Granger was now to serve detention with her for that. Hilarious! The rule follower gets in trouble.

"You shouldn't laugh you know," Rose said as she gently shoved her fingers into his sides making him chuckle.

"Yeah yeah." Raven waved her off as she pouted at him making him laugh. She looked so cute.

'Wait cute?' Raven asked himself, but was distracted when he was suddenly hit by a gust of wind sending him face-first into some mud that was not there moments ago.

He could have stopped it, but he was in a good mood, so he let it happen. However as he turned around to look while casually waving his wand to clean himself, he saw Malfoy and his ilk. And his good mood was gone.

"What do you want Malfoy?" Rose asked annoyed, he always annoyed her constantly. At least when he wasn't in pain or the nurse's area. Idiot never learned.
