Tessa LaRusso sighed as she grabbed her backpack off of the table that had just been checked. She furrowed her eyebrows at the sight in front of her.
Draping over the stair railing laid a poster for Miguel Diaz.
'Welcome Back !Miguel!'
It was a yellow poster written in black marker or paint with four blue and red line streaks.
She hadn't even realized how many people were affected by him, how now he wasn't just the scrawny braces boy Tessa had come to love.
Everyone began to shortly clap and cheer moments after she began walking away, causing her to confusingly look behind her.
There stood, literally standing, Miguel Diaz as he walked forward with a smile on his face. People began to walk up to him, fist bumping him as they made little conversation.
Almost frozen at the sight, she quickly took a deep breath as she looked down before walking away. It wasn't shortly long as Hawk made his presence known by grabbing onto the girl as he walked her back to where she previously was.
"El Serpiente!" Hawk shouted, taking his hand away from the girl's shoulder as he walked up to Miguel and pulled him into a short hug handshake. Tessa sighed as she looked down uncomfortably, not wanting to be brought into their conversation in the slightest.
"What's up?" Miguel smiled as he spoke to the boy, it slowly dropping as he looked behind the boy at the girl who stood awkwardly.
"Welcome back, man." Hawk hadn't noticed the demeanor of the two next to him.
"Feels good to be back." Miguel responded as he shook his head before smiling up at the Moskowitz boy.
"Did they give you bionic legs or some shit like that?" Hawk questioned as he looked down at Miguels legs.
"No, same old boring human legs." Miguel laughed as he looked down at his legs. Tessa walked up towards the two as she stood next to Hawk, her arms crossed over her chest as she refused to make eye contact with the boy.
"Oh, yeah? Can you throw down? Gotta defend that title." Hawk jokingly threw his fist towards Miguel as he laughed. "Gotta get through me first. Dude, Cobra Kai is crushing it right now. We even got Ms. LaRusso back in there." He turned towards the girl as he playfully shoulder bumped her. She smiled slightly at his actions before looking towards Miguel, trying to give him the same weak smile.
"Uh, I've actually been meaning to talk to you about that." Miguel brought the conversation back around as he looked towards Hawk. The three looked up at the sound of the bell ringing, teens already starting to clear out of the hallway. "I'll talk to you about it at lunch." Miguel spoke as he looked towards Tessa for a brief moment.
