'Senator Organa is expressing concern on Senator Amidala's safety,' a new voice took Sol's attention. Master Mace Windu stood beside Master Yoda, towering over the Grand Master. His expression was always stoic and exerted his power over most in the Jedi Temple; all except Master Yoda, of course.

'Master Windu,' Sol greeted hastily and bowed her head. The dark-skinned man watched the Padawan do so and waited for her to straighten up before speaking again.

'He's begged an audience with the council and with Chancellor Palpatine. That is all you need to know.'

If Sol was a balloon, a sound of deflation would have echoed throughout the city. It was obvious that Sol's presence would not be appreciated on the T-6 or on Alderaan. She glanced down at her Master, who undoubtedly felt her disappointment through the Force, and resisted the urge to argument.

It was always the same. She would watch Masters, Padawans, and Knights leave the temple in their ships and disappear into the light orange sky. To settle conflicts and keep the peace on far away planets, Jedi sailed through hyperspace and were celebrated for their selflessness and skill. Sol wanted to be part of this, but had only left the core planet of the galaxy once, and that was to achieve her kyber crystal for her lightsaber. Master Yoda never offered to bring her along on missions and would give her some miniature mission somewhere in the city.

'Help the Ranland family to school, you must,' he would say. 'Requested Jedi help, they did. They believe a bounty is out for their children.'

'Investigate the trade of illegal spice, you must,' he would make up. 'The city is riddled with it.'

But there were never any bounties or any illegal spice trading. If there was, it never came of anything while Sol was assigned to their investigation. They were pointless missions to get the young woman away from the real missions that Master Yoda attended, or that other Padawans ventured to with their Masters.

'We should get to the ship, Master,' Mace Windu turned to the Grand Master and the latter hummed in agreement. The taller of the two turned to leave, while Master Yoda turned back to Sol. She thought she saw some regret in his eyes, but the Force would have given away his feelings if so.

'Mission for you, I have, Sol.'

'Is it to do with the bounty on the ever-so-dramatic president of the Coruscant reading club?' with a roll of her eyes, Sol knew she was being childish. With any other Master, it would earn a scolding. But Master Yoda only chuckled with his throaty voice.

'Humourous, you are, my Padawan,' he shook his extended-eared head. 'A bounty, this is, but for a very important member of the senate. Senator Amidala needs protection while in the city. A target, she is. A skilled Jedi, she needs by her side. Master Kenobi is already signed to the mission with his Padawan. But more, I think she needs.'

Master Kenobi? That meant that Anakin would be assigned to the mission too. Sol resisted another eye roll.

'You will be of assistance. Commlink, you will use. Contact me if anything happens, you will.'

'Yes, Master.'

Master Yoda left without another word. Sol didn't bother to watch her Master leave in the T-6 with Master Windu. To her, this was another mission to keep her occupied. Senator Amidala was within sight of the Jedi Temple, meaning it was no closer to the stars than Sol was already. It was another distraction and Sol still didn't know why they seemed to be necessary.

Why did the Jedi Council never send Sol off Coruscant? Was Master Yoda ashamed of her? Why did she complete all this training only to have no use for it?

As the questions swirled, Sol headed for her speeder to head over to Senator Amidala's penthouse.
