Don't Cause Pain For Your Own Joy

Don't hurt others for your happiness,
You'll end up regretting it, I confess,
Treating others badly may give pleasure,
But it's short-lived and it won't be a treasure.

When we're unhappy, it's easy to lash out,
To use our pain to cause others to doubt,
Our words can hurt more than sticks and stones,
And leave others feeling in despair and alone.

Don't cause pain for your own joy,
It's wrong and will end up causing you to be coy,
About the ways you treat others who cross your way,
Be better, be kinder, and let negative emotions sway.

When we're angry, it's easy to blame,
Putting others at fault, it's easy to aim,
But before you act, take a second to pause,
Consider the consequences of your actions and all the flaws.

Don't hurt others for the sake of your contentment,
Your actions will lead to your own torment,
For the way you disregard others' feelings and thoughts,
Will leave you with a loneliness that can't be bought.

A moment of frustration can lead to harm,
With words spoken that leave scars that won't disarm,
It's easy to be cruel when you're feeling low,
But at what cost will your happiness grow?

Don't use others to fill an empty heart,
Your joy will be temporary, and it'll fall apart,
Leaving you with a loneliness that can't be healed,
Believe me, the pain and the sorrow will be real.

When we're in pain, it's easy to inflict,
And our actions could be hard to predict,
But consider the value of treating others well,
And how much more joy it could truly entail.

Don't hurt others for your momentary happiness,
It's not worth the pain, and it's not a true success,
Be empathetic, considerate, and kind,
And discover the greatness of a beautiful mind.

It takes strength to stop ourselves from spreading pain,
But it's essential if we want harmony to reign,
Don't let your happiness come at someone else's expense,
Because in the end, you'll fall off the fence.

Remember, we're all human, and we make mistakes,
To be kind to yourself and others can never be fake,
We owe it to one another to treat each other well,
And to share joy in a world in which we all dwell.
