Battle Within Love

The worst battle I ever fought
Was between what I knew and what I felt
The constant tug of war in my heart
The never-ending battle that left me confused.

My mind told me to be cautious,
To tread carefully and not jump in too fast,
To guard my heart and not trust too easily,
But my heart sang a different tune.

It urged me to take the leap of faith,
To trust my instincts and go with the flow,
To let my guard down and embrace the unknown,
To follow my heart and see where it goes.

In the heat of battle, I struggled to find peace,
Like a ship in a stormy sea, tossed to and fro,
I was lost and uncertain, unsure of what to do,
But then I met you, and everything changed.

A ray of sunshine on a cloudy day,

And now that I look back on that battle within,
I realize how foolish I was to fight it alone,
