Beauty of Memories

I hold onto every single memory,

Because I know we won't be making anymore.

Time passes so fast, and I feel so weary,

As the world around me starts to close its door.

I remember our first kiss, so full of passion,

The way our lips met, igniting flames of desire.

It seemed like nothing could ever dampen

Our love, our bond, our eternal fire.

But then life happened, throwing us for a loop,

Our paths diverging, taking us separate ways.

We tried to hold onto what we had as a group,

But it was too late, and our love slowly decayed.

Now, as I sit and reminisce about us,

The memories flood in, oh so vividly.

I see your face, and I can't help but fuss

Over what we had, what we could've been, ideally.

Our walks in the park, holding hands,

The way we laughed together, carefree and wild.

The way your voice sounded, like gentle strands

Of music, soothing my troubled mind.

I remember the way you smelled, always so nice,

The way you hugged me, like I was your savior.

The times we argued and made up thrice,

The way you knew me, like I was your curator.

The way your eyes sparkled when you smiled,

The way you looked at me, with so much love.

The way your heart-beat quickened in the wildest

Of moments, like you were sent down from above.

It's funny how time can change everything,

From love to hate, from joy to melancholy.

But I'm grateful for the memories we bring,

For they remind me of the bittersweet beauty.

The beauty of love, of two people finding each other,

Of the bond that can't be broken by distance or time.

The beauty of memories, that stay like a cover,

Holding us close, like a familiar rhyme.

As I hold onto every single memory we made,

I feel grateful for the moments we shared.

For even though our paths have strayed,

Our love, our bond, can never really be impaired.

Now I sit here, with a smile on my face,

Remembering the beautiful moments we had.

For even though we can't be together in this place,

Our memories will always remain, making me glad.

I hold onto every single memory,

Because they remind me of who we used to be.

Of the love that existed, so pure and heavenly,

Of the way you touched my heart, so tenderly.

The bittersweet beauty of memories,

Is that even though they may make you cry,

They also remind you of all the histories,

Of all the love, of all the reasons why.

Why you fell in love, why you held on tight,

Why you fought for love, why you let it go.

For the memories will always shine so bright,

Reminding you of all the highs and lows.

I hold onto every single memory,

For they are mine, forever to keep.

And even if we don't make more of these,

Our memories will always run deep.
