I thought you'd be my everything

But in turn, you left me with nothing

A lonely path, a heart full of despair

A soul in pieces, a life beyond repair

I opened my world, gave you my all

Dreaming of a future, one with love's thrall

But you were a mirage, a fleeting dream

A temporary bliss, or so it did seem

You showered me with promises and words

Painting a picture of love, a world of birds

I believed in that world, in the dreams you spun

A world of happiness, a world of fun

But soon, your words turned hollow

The promises you made, they seemed shallow

Your love became a lie, a facade

In the end, it all felt odd

I tried to hold on, hoped for a way

To bring back the love we had on display

But the time slipped away, and so did you

Leaving me with heartache, so true

I thought you'd be my everything

But in turn, you left me with nothing

A soul so lost, a heart so broken

All that's left is tears that are unspoken

The days became dark, the nights so long

No more of our love song

The memories of you, now so faint

my heart so full of pain

The pieces of my heart, shattered on the floor

The love that I gave, not appreciated anymore

The dreams that we shared, all gone to waste

The future we imagined, now a bitter taste

I thought you'd be my everything

But in turn, you left me with nothing

I look back on our love story

And it's now a tale of tragedy

I pick up the pieces, mend the broken parts

I heal my heart, and find new starts

A love that endures, a love that's pure

One without pain, one that will endure

I no longer let my world be entranced

By a love that, in the end, leaves me in a trance

I pick myself up and rise above

A love that's true, one I never thought of

I thought you'd be my everything

But in turn, you left me with nothing

I thought I had lost it all

But in the end, I found myself standing tall
