[VOL 3] Jess's Potential

Mike: ZzzzzzzzzzzZZzzzzzzz.
???: Meow.
Mike: WHYAH!
Mike looked around the down at his lap to see his cat Truman, laying there. He reached down and pet him.
Mike: Hey there bud, how you like living here so far?
Truman: Meow.
Mike: I know, I shouldn't be asking that since you've been here for a month.
Olivia: Who the hell are you talking to?
Mike: Truman.
Olivia: We should get a dog. Hell, we should bring my dog here.
Mike: Eh.
Olivia: What's for breakfast?
Mike: For once, cereal.
Olivia: You mean Jess hasn't been eating it all?
Mike: She seems distracted, like whatever that nightmare of hers was, it shook her.
Olivia: About that, what was your nightmare?
Mike: You cooking.
Olivia: HEY, I'm a decent cooker.
Mike: And yours?
Olivia: You having children, now that's a nightmare.
Mike: Well, whatever Stacy did she made most of us face our fears.
Olivia: Yeah(chews and some cereal) you aren't screaming anymore. And the rest of the gang arent having nightmares.
Mike: Cept you.
Olivia: That's cause I don't sleep.
Mike: You should.
Olivia: Whatever, Imma go back to the kitchen and eat this cereal before Jess eats it all.
Mike: Hurry, before she wakes up.

(few minutes later)

Frank: *Yawns* G'Morning Mike.
Mike: Good morning Frank, you sleep well last night?
Frank: Kinda.
Mike: What do you mean kinda?
Frank: It was more like a memory.
Mike: Holy shit! What was it?
Frank: I think I was playing catch with my old man.
Mike: Do you rememeber your name or where your from?
Frank: No.
Mike pats Frank shoulder.
Mike: It's ok, we'll figure out who you are someday my friend.
Frank: Thanks mate.
Frank goes into the kitchen. Then Jayden comes in.
Jayden: Hey Mike, can I ask you something?
Mike: Bro, do you really have to ask?
Jayden: Jess has been kinda distant lately.
Mike: When did this start?
Jayden: Right after the nightmare incident.
Mike: Ok I'll go talk to her.
Jayden: Thanks man.
Jayden then heads to the kitchen. Mike gets up and walks towards Jayden and Jess's room. Mike knocks on the door.
Jess: Who is it?
Mike: It's me Mike, can I come in?
Jess: Just a sec.
Mike hears things crashing to the ground. Then Jess opens the door.
Jess: Hey. So what's up?
Mike: Jayden said you've been a little distant, so I wanted to see if you're ok.
Jess: I'm... Ok.
Mike: Jess, come on. Tell me how you're feeling.
Jess: I feel like I'm holding back with my powers.
Mike: What do you mean?
Jess: I'll show you in the training room, ok?
Mike: Yeah sure.

(In the training room)

Mike takes off his jacket and puts on his helmet.
Jess: Are you taking me seriously?
Mike: I always take my family seriously. So how are you holding back?
Jess: Well, when Illusion was taunting me, she said something that pissed me off and then I went all nuclear on her.
Mike: So you want to see if that's gonna happen in the real world?
Jess: Yeah. So just say something that will piss me off.
Mike: Helen saying shit about how your depressed and shit.
Jess: ...
Mike: Did that-
Mike then sees her eyes go black and purple and black lightning then appears around her.
Mike: Alright, I think we're-
Jess: AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
Jess charges at Mike. Mike just barely dodges.
Mike: Jess calm-
Jess: DIIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Jess then shoots an entire beam of plasma at Mike, hitting his arm.
Mike: AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
Mike falls to the floor, holding his sholder, his arm missing.
Doors open and the rest of the Rejects come rushing in.
Jayden: What happ- OH MY GOD MIKE!!!
Everyone rushes towards Mike. Olivia walks up to Jess.
Olivia: What happend?
Jess: I asked him to help me stop holding back and I went to far. I didn't mean to hurt him.
Jayden: I know Jess, but right now we need to take him to the medbay now.
Frank carries Mike and everyone goes to the medbay except Jess, who just stands there in shock.
