“Just Karmi learning how to develop our photos. We’ve been married for ten years and she only got curious to learn it herself just now. Sabi niya sanay na raw kasi siya pinapanood ako, pero ayan nagpaturo na rin. She’s been traveling a lot for work and I’m always excited to welcome her home and see all the beautiful pictures she took in her own lens. Karmi likes to take pictures of random things, random places that could only mean something to her. She told me gusto niya raw ng gano’n to remember where she was and to keep the moment in her mind. Minsan susulatan niya pa ‘yong likod with dates and notes. She likes to look back on things that once became a part of her. Every time I think about it, I can’t believe something / someone can be so beautiful like her.” — Lianne.

“This is me and I was holding flowers Lia gave to me when I came home from work. At this point, some people would ask me, ‘Ang tagal niyo nang kasal. Malaking bagay pa rin ang flowers?’ and I always tell them they’re wrong. Hindi rin naman siya isang simpleng gesture lang galing sa asawa ko. Part na ‘to ni Lia at ang part ko, hindi ako nasasanay sa part niya na ‘yon. She once tried to bake a cake for me on my birthday. A carrot cake. It didn’t taste perfect and we bought another one from another store. I still kept the cake in our fridge and ate one slice a day. Nanghihinayang ba ako kaya kinain ko pa rin? Hindi. I just appreciate her so much I would eat everything she cooks rather than throwing them away. When she gave me the flowers, it always feels like she was still pursuing me. Our relationship always feels so refreshing because of those little things that we do to each other. Next time raw crochet flowers naman ang ibibigay niya para hindi nalalanta— para ang nararamdaman niya raw para sa ‘ming dalawa. Kumokorni na asawa ko. Haha.” — Karmi.
