A month had passed since Midoriya and Yume had found one another, and it had not been easy.
A month of living on the streets, a month of never staying in one place too long, a month of endless villains taken down by the newly overpowered Midoriya, and a month of lack of answers from Yume as she followed him.
It was frustrating as she was a major lead, but he was patient.
Patience prevailed as rain poured down from the sky, announcing his frustrations with the crackle of lightning but the kindness through droplets softly landing in accumulated puddles. The night was cold as the city was dark, and not a soul wanted to leave enough light on to be potential targets if not already within protective walls like the one at UA.
The rumble of thunder was much like the fear of remaining citizens, either acting on pure malice or superstition as they harmed those around them. Some of it was self-defense, other times it was not.
This was not one of those times.
It was how Midoriya ended up standing in front of a fox-like woman to shield her from the blasts of antsy civilians ganging up on her out of fear purely because of what she looked like and her size.
He talked them down, now left alone with the girl as her tears fell with the raindrops.
To help, he held her previously discarded umbrella over her head, "You're safe now."
After explaining she was evacuating, wrong about this all blowing over in the beginning, he promised that he was going to make sure everything went back to normal before a car pulled up.
All Might busted out immediately, asking if he was okay.
He was, so he continued, "Would you take her to the nearest shelter? I've been in one place too long."
Just as his feet began to move, All Might dug into the backseat of the car, "Wait! Here, take this with you."
Two wrapped bento boxes were dropped into Midoriya's hands, the boy was briefly surprised by it as his teacher went on to explain, "Pork cutlets to keep your energy levels up. And I don't know when the last time she ate, so I'm sure she needs the meal."
All Might knew fully well, though he hadn't seen the girl himself, that Midoriya had Asu–Yume. He constantly had to remind himself of that detail as well. The boy had shot the team a text shortly after he found her and explained the situation, adding why she could not go back.
Unable to bring either of them home, as much as he'd love to do so, this is all he could think to do to help either of them. It pained him to only be able to do so little for his two students as someone who used to do above and beyond for the world.
