Amy and Lexi's Choice [Part 5 - FINAL]

Inside the cottage, Baby nursery...

Rory was sitting on the floor, cradling Amy's head in his lap when she woke up.

"How did I get up here?"

"I carried you. I'm afraid you may experience some bruising."

"Where are The Doctor and Lexi?"

"I don't know.... I want to do something for you." Rory turned around and unzipped a bag and took out a pair of scissors. He then reached back and cut off his ponytail.

Amy gasped. "I was starting to like it."

There was a squeaking sound and they both looked to the window in alarm only to see The Doctor climbing in.

"It's alright, I had to stop off at the butcher's." The Doctor fell to the floor after he got all the way in from the window.

"Where's Lexi?" Amy asked.

The Doctor's face fell in sadness. "I'm sorry...."

"No..." Amy sniffled.

"Well, Doctor, what are we going to do now?" Rory asked rubbing Amy's back in comfort as she softly sobbed into his shoulder.

"I don't know. I thought the freezing TARDIS was real, but now I'm not so sure."

Amy gasped in pain. "I think the baby's starting."

"Honestly?" Rory asked.

"I just lost my sister. Rory, would I make something up like that at a time like this?!"

"Well, you do have a history of..." Amy glared at him. "being very lovely." Amy cried out in pain. "Why are they so desperate to kill us?!"

The Doctor stood up. "They're scared. Fear generates savagery."

A piece of garden statuary was all of a sudden thrown through the window. Rory went to look and Mrs. Poggit then shot the green mist at him. Rory fell back with a groan and Amy went to comfort him. The Doctor knocked Mrs. Poggit from the roof with the lamp. The Doctor whirled around to watch Amy and Rory.

"Rory!" Amy cried out.

"No! I'm not ready." Rory then began to dissolve.

"Stay."

The Doctor wiped his eyes. He just lost his fiancé and now he had to watch one of his closest friends lose her husband.

"Look after our baby." Rory said with his dying breath as he dissolved away completely.

"No. No. Come back."

"Amy..."The Doctor mouthed sadly.

"Save him. Save Lexi. You save everyone. You always do. It's what you do."

"Not always. I'm so sorry."

"Then what is the point of you?" Amy asked angrily.

Amy touched the pile of dust that was Rory and stood with the help of a bureau. The Doctor went to help, comfort, but couldn't bring himself to touch her.

"This is the dream. Definitely, this one. Now, if we die here, we wake up, yeah?"

The Doctor nodded. "Unless we just die."

"Either way, this is my only chance, our only chance of seeing them again. This is the dream."

Front of the cottage...

The Doctor and Amy left the house, but the elderly did nothing.

"Why aren't they attacking?!"

"Either because this is just a dream, or because they know what we're about to do."
