The Angels Take Manhattan [Part 4]

Outside, New York City, Street, Night...

The car turned around the corner before braking to a halt, Amy quickly climbing out from behind the wheel.

"Why would they send him here?" Lexi asked, looking out the window of the car.

River looked up from her handheld device and turned around from her place in the front passenger seat to look back at the Doctor and Lexi as they sat in the back seat. "Exactly. Why not zap him back in time, like they normally do?"

"We'll know that when we know what this place is." The Doctor told them before getting out of the car, holding the door open for Lexi.

"Winter Quay." Amy stated, staring up at the building before being joined by River, the Doctor and Lexi. All four of them then running towards the building.

They quickly ran up the stairs, the doors of the building opening on their own with a creak.

Inside, Winter Quay, 3rd floor hall...

The lift opened, Amy being the first to step out of it.

"Rory." Amy looked around.

"He's close." River told her.

Amy quickly strode down the hall. "Rory!" She called out before peering inside an open door, relief flashing across her face when she saw her husband. "Rory!" She smiled, running into the apartment.

Inside, Winter Quay, Apartment...

"Amy." Rory sighed in relief, hugging his wife as she entered the apartment.

Inside, Winter Quay, 3rd floor hall...

River was still using the tracker but stopped short just outside the apartment. "Auntie, Uncle, look at this."

The Doctor and Lexi looked to where River was looking and saw an Angel in the hall.

It was smiling.

"Why's it smiling?" Lexi asked worriedly.

The Doctor glanced to his right and saw the nameplate by the apartment door.

It read 'R. Williams'.

"Oh, my God..." Lexi whispered in shock as she looked at the nameplate.

"Amy. Rory!" The Doctor shouted as he and Lexi ran into the apartment.

Inside, Winter Quay, Apartment...

"Get out of here." The Doctor said as he and Lexi rushed into the apartment where Amy and Rory were hugging. "Don't look at anything. Don't touch anything."

Behind them, River locked the apartment door as they looked into the bedroom.

"Who's that?" Amy asked, seeing an old man lying on the bed, reaching out with a gasp when he saw them.

"Amy!" The old man exclaimed hoarsely. "Amy, please..."

Lexi and the Doctor looked away as Amy slowly walked to the old man.

"Amy." The old man whispered as she took his hand. "Please. Please."

As Amy kneeled beside him and looked at him, the old man wheezed and panted as he tried to breathe right.

"Rory..." Amy whispered before looking to her husband's young self. "He's you."

Rory swallowed nervously as he turned away.
