The Girl(s) Who Waited [Part 3]

Inside, Twostreams Facility, Temporal engines...

Rory followed Amy and Lexi as they went through a curtain that was made from miscellaneous materials.

"Oh!" Rory exclaimed as he noticed a handbot standing in a corner.

The Handbot turned, revealing a smiley face drawn on him.

"Don't worry about him." Amy waved him off. "Sit down, Rory."

Rory and the Handbot both then sat down.

"You named him after me?" Rory asked.

"Needed a bit of company."

"So, he's like your..."

"Pet."

Lexi sighed, picking up the red lipstick she had used all those years ago to write that message for the Doctor as she listened to Amy and Rory converse with each other.

"Is it safe?" Rory questioned.

"Yep. I disarmed it."

"How?" He questioned before seeing the hands had been cut off. "Oh, you... disarmed it. How come you don't have one, Lexi?"

Lexi sighed again, setting the lipstick back down.

"I thought it was weird." She stated, glancing at him. "Didn't mean I was gonna stop Amy from having one."

"And besides, it's just a robot." Amy added. "You'd have done the same."

Inside, TARDIS...

"I don't know that I would have." The Doctor stated.

"And there he is - the voice of God." Amy rolled her eyes as her voice came over the monitor. "Survive. 'Cause no-one's going to come for you. Number one lesson." She looked into the glasses. "You taught us that."

"Is that really all I taught you?" He asked.

"Not at first, no." Lexi answered. "That was definitely not on my mind all those years ago. But after being here and waiting for so long, things started to become more clear. All we've got - all we've had for 36 years - is cold, hard reality." She looked to the glasses. "So, no, I don't have a sonic screwdriver because Amy and I aren't off on a romp. I call it what it is - a probe. And we call our life what it is... Hell."

With that, she turned away.

"Lexi and Amy Pond, I am going to put this right." He assured. "You said you learned from an Interface. Can I speak with it?"

Inside, Twostreams Facility, Temporal engines...

"Doesn't work in here." Amy informed, checking her watch. "2:23, the garden'll be clear now." She looked to Rory. "Stay or go?"

"Sorry, me?" He questioned. "No, I'm coming with you!"

"Try not to get killed." Lexi commented as she passed him.

"Or do. Whatever." Amy shrugged, following her sister, Rory then following her as did the handbot.

Inside, Twostreams Facility, Garden, Terrace...

"When Lexi and I first came here, I had to trick the Interface into giving me the information, but we've reprogrammed it now." Amy informed. "It'll tell us anything except how to escape."

"You guys hacked it?" Rory asked, stunned. "That's genius!"

Inside, TARDIS...

"Sorry to interrupt that beautiful moment, but temporal engines have a regulator valve, which has to be kept from the main reactor or there's feedback. Interface, where's the regulator?" The Doctor asked.
