As Long as You Love Me

A/N: Hey there! *waves* 🙂

Okay, so, I got the idea for this filler chapter a few months back (not sure exactly when). Anyway, after I was inspired to write this after I had listened to "As Long as You Love Me" by Sleeping At Last. ❤️

It's such a great song and, if you listen to the words very carefully, it's pretty accurate in describing the Doctor as well.

So yeah, I listened to the song and it gave me the idea for this filler chapter. And I decided to put it into this book in this specific spot because I felt that it fit into the story best right here based on the chapters that just happened and what I've got planned coming up.

Also, I put the song at the top! 🎧

Anyway, I did my best when I went and researched Classic Who. Since I've only seen the first two episodes, I do not have much knowledge of the Classic era. But, I needed to research it a bit in order for me to be able to write this chapter. I felt that me writing this was important.

I hope you'll understand once you actually read the chapter.

Inside, TARDIS, The Doctor and Lexi's bedroom...

"What are you thinking about?" Lexi whispered as she and the Doctor laid on their sides, facing each other on their bed.

Opening his eyes from being deep in thought, the Doctor gave Lexi a small smile. "You."

"Oh really?" She smiled back, scooting a bit closer to him. "And what thoughts are you having about me?"

"Hm." He hummed in response, gently caressing down her arm before taking her hand. "That you, dear, are beautiful, inside and out. That you are something that I don't deserve. And that the universe picked you, glorious and amazing you, to end up with me... well, I don't think I'll ever understand it."

"You don't give yourself enough credit." Lexi responded, reaching up and stroking his cheek with her thumb. "If anything, I don't think I'll ever understand why the universe chose you to be with me. Well, I believe Idris had something to do with it, but that's not the point. What I'm trying to say is... we are exactly what each other deserves."

"If that is the case, then I feel like there's something I need to show you." The Doctor confessed. "I have lived for... a very long time. I have had many faces and have seen, done, and been a part of so many things. If we are to start our marriage out right, then I don't want there to be any secrets between us."

"I agree." She said softly, leaning up a bit to kiss him and whisper against his lips. "So show me..."

"As you wish." He whispered back before leaning their foreheads together.

Suddenly Lexi wasn't laying in bed with the Doctor anymore. It's like she was walking through a dark space of nothingness.

At least she was until the darkness started to brighten and take shape.

"The least important things lead to the greatest discoveries." A gray-haired old man said as he appeared to walk right past Lexi, making her whip around to see him walk off and disappear into the darkness.
